Quote="freddies wig"Wouldn't you rather the RFL helped the Eagles with this rather than buy odsal and not tell the truth about why and then encourage the RL "family" to throw loads of money at a lying Bradford Bulls?'"
I really hope they manage to sort things out. I know we constantly have digs at their attendances but, joking aside, it would be a catastrophe if they disappeared. They would be the first club to fail, not because of finances, but because they have nowhere to play.
I have never been one of Mark Aston's biggest fans but he has always been Mister Sheffield and his passion and commitment is clear for all to see. The proposed new ground was announced amid fanfares and a glare of publicity but since then nothing. I must admit I was very apprehensive at the time as I could not see, in the current climate, who would want to invest vast sums of money to build a new stadium as it is hardly a lucrative investment even if Sheffield were pulling massive crowds.
Anyway, I can only wish them well.'"
Well said FM.
Banter to one side the Eagles have added something to the Championship for a long time culminating in the best run of form to beat all their rivals to be crowned Champions last year.
Come on Sheffield City Council get something sorted out.

I hope they do find somewhere and can build up something of a following but it really does look like there is little appetite for RL in Sheffield, it's a massive city but to be fair even the football clubs don't really draw massive crowds, just bigish ones for the level they are playing at.
England's 5th biggest city, pop. 1/2 million people so they are getting about .2% of the population at best so you cannot really expect the council to give a damn.
