What are you on about yes I play golf but not at Waterton Park and I definitely would not use a pitching wedge on a green and have never seen MC on a golf course. I would also point out I am not a slow player nor do I miss the ball.

This is not Waterton but Woodthorpe where the club were holding a golf day this year. I was suggesting that due to the virus he should avoid the rough and bunkers because they had not been prepared as you would expect. They also suggest if you feel unwell go for a test the problem is that they now admit that the testing system put in place cannot cope but they hope to have resolved the problem in a few weeks. The alternative is to go on a 150 mile round trip which they consider acceptable because apparently Cummins tested it recently when he was having trouble seeing a disaster about to hit the country.

The pattern for all these things has been to exaggerate their worth and quality and then, when they are found to be not up to scratch, to present something even bolder and more exaggerated, which takes the heat away from the initial shambles

Wife tried to get a test booked for today - she’s a teacher and has been back at work for 2 weeks, and is showing symptoms.
No home test kits are available, and no tests at ANY walk in or drive through centres are available today.

Everyone is told to go out and eat, return to work, use public transport etc and the "R" number suddenly increases.
We then get the schools back (absolutely neccessary) but, have to start restricting everything else and still the "R" is going up and fast.
Where the hell is the planning and forward thinking here ?

Did anyone think these joke multipurpose specialist-at-nothing, up-for-everything companies like Serco would really deliver.
They are literally designed to be good at one thing, winning inflated government contracts. What happens after is almost irrelevant. They are a pastiche of capitalism, a blight on our economy and entrusting them with things of this scale and importance was stupid and dangerous.

This pandemic has been like a wet dream for the contract chasers and Johnson's government have been only too happy to oblige. I wonder where the £100 billion will end up if Johnson goes ahead with his 'moonshot'? He should rebrand it 'moneyshot' because that's what it's really all about.

The sad irony is that the UK will be in way more debt than anything that Corbyn promised but, without any of the infrastructure that would have been set up.
Also, just imaging if EVERY household had decent broadband, maybe even some of the poor kids could have received some learning ??
