| Type the forumula below, follow instructions but type commas and brackets and =vlookup
=vlookup(click first cell of list of new employee id numbers, highlight entire column of old employee id numbers,1,false)
Press enter. But then go back into the formula and put a dollar sign before the cell and row references in the old employee id numbers bit (E.g $D$4:$D$50 if info was in rows 4-50 of column D) then drag formula down the list of new id numbers to copy the formula down. Anything that returns an id number is in both, anything that comes back as N/A is not in both lists.

Anyone know how to make a Mac connect to disk shares on another machine (Windows) on boot? Got it to work the other way round without a problem.

Best thing you can do is upgrade from 1GB of RAM to 2GB of RAM if your machine can take it.
Other things to do -
Run msconfig and stop everything apart from your AV starting a boot.

All the Windows netbooks I've seen have come with the power management options set to power saver or balanced to prolong battery life, with them being portable and all.
Switching it to 'high performance' when plugged in works a treat. As mentioned by BG upgrade the memory and ensure there is no bloatware running. Most new laptops will have all kinds of extras running, security software, backup software, media software, desktop widgets etc.

Samba, comes as default on both OS's. Basically on the Mac you need to Go > Connect to Server and use smb://sharepc/sharename. Once you have connected manually drag the network volume from your desktop to the Login Items in Preferences > Accounts > Login Items. This will then connect when you log on again.

Is there any way to look at the data held behind the UI on the Super League 'Head to Head' statistics page ( www.superleague.co.uk/statistics_player)
I'm looking to draw comparisons between more than 2 players at a time, if there was any way for me to be able to look at all the information held and manipulate it as required using Excel or whatever that would be perfect, just not sure if that's possible?

| If there security is up to much, I'd doubt it. Unless of course they're providing that level of information somewhere on the site and I've missed it.
Failing that you could scrape it, bit naughty though.

To be honest, legality aside, I'd have no idea where to start with web scraping so that's out of the question.
I had guessed it would be nigh on impossible for a novice like me, thought I'd ask the question anyway! Cheers though, I'll just have to grind it out manually.

Let Windows do the work mate, at install choose to delete the existing partition and create a new one.

| Someone posted a link to a driver backup program earlier in the thread, I would suggest doing that so you don't have to find all your drivers again once your done, however updating the would be no bad thing.

Will that actually increase a Netbook's web browsing speed? I ask because i was once told, and i cant recall where, that once you pass 1GB of RAM the speed of web browsing will only change a negligable amount.
I've just brought my daughter a cheapish Netbook from America and it's rather slow for web browsing despite excellent broadband signal in our property. It only has 1GB of RAM, is it actually worth increasing, then?

Yes, you've got the operation system, the graphics and any software running to come off that RAM, an extra boost to 2GB is the best upgrade, once you are over that 2GB you wouldn't see much of a boost to browsing speed.

Tried it and you'd be better off buying something like a Cyclone media player, far more flexible in what it will play.

| I think it depends what most of your stuff is encoded in. If it is mostly MPEG-4, H.264 etc. then support for some of other formats won't matter. And if you want to rent movies, then the cyclone doesn't appear to offer much of a solution for that.
Anyway, if you want an Apple TV I would advise you to wait. Apple will do one based on the A5 (that's the System on a Chip in iPad 2) which will support 1080p.

You need to save it as a file and then upload it to an image hosting site so that you can link to it.

| If anyone has a Kindle 3g and likes to browse RLFans but hates the time taken to load the graphics on the basic web browser, use the m.rlfans.com site. It loads almost immediately and makes the reading experience heaps better. I try to load every site with the prefix 'm' and see if it works. IMDb also has an excellent mobile site, as does the BBC .. loads cleaner.
