More news on this to follow, but they have combined the Cheshire & North West regional conferences to make the Northern Premier League.

There is a couple of good teams in that league.

Widnes Saints are basically the Widnes St Maries teams plus a few others.

Blackpool are a decent side, again a lot of the team coming from the NWC squad.

Runcorn are ok but I believe they have a lot of union players in the team.

Not sure about the others, I would imagine that Lymm will have a few from the likes of Cadishead and Irlam etc in there team.

Anyway good luck for the new season, and depending on how my job searching goes and what type of job I find I may come out of retirement and attend a few training sessions if I would be welcome

If as Si says, they are Maries, then they'll be a massive ask, speaking from experience.

Runcorn are a team very much like Glos, played them and they contain a hell of a lot of talent and size, maybe just lack organisation. That's were you need to capitalise, if not they can do anyone.

Aye. The last time I played Marie's 2nds they were pretty tough indeed (2 years ago).

Also, Widnes Saints do have some Maries players in but have also got some union and other Widnes lads there.

Forgive my cynicism but won't you have an influx of Cuthberts, Judes, St Pats lads keeping fit in the summer?

We have been playing since 2002/2003 and started out as a bunch of mates playing against Supporters RL teams. We competed in the Merit League last season, we made the grand final and losy against a very strong Moorends side. The decision was made to move up as i think we only played in4 games that tested us. Example travelling to Shorpe to win 92-6 is not much fun.

We are relatively new to this, so we shall see how we run.

Of course im sure we will have lads come down from Wigan ARL teams, but our side has been much of the same for the past 2/3 years.

the maries maybe play like a bunch of thugs but whenever i've played againest a wigan side it's always been rough and tough. should be a good game.
