| Disgusting seeing as the game wasnt even televised
So much for this 'sell out 12k' crowd eh?
Why so few people to see arguably the best team in England??

Because the game was held in Wrexham
And I was browsing through the posts on here that said that this one would be a 12k sell out

Firstly you shouldn't believe everything you read. The present capacity is less than 10,500 anyway.
Regarding the turn-out, I was expecting around 7,000 - 8,000 myself, so, yes I was a tad disappointed. I guess that the beautiful weekend weather didn't help matters. That afternoon the supermarkets did a roaring trade selling barbecue food etc. and on my way into town you could smell barbecue smoke in the air. I wouldn't be at all surprised if many people who had intended to pay on the day decided to chill out with a few beers in the garden.
Without wanting to make excuses, you have to remember that many Crusaders home fans are pretty new to rugby league, so the tradition of turning out come rain or shine etc. etc. hasn't taken a grip yet. With luck, the numbers should hover around the 7,000+ for the rest of the season.

But if the club can only get 6k for the visit of arguably one of the biggest names in British RL...a club who are currently top of SL... then how many will turn up for sides like Castleford??

| New club= Smaller Fan base
You will have to give the crusaders time to establish themselves in wrexham so they can increase their fanbase. To expect a team that is playing a sport that has never been professionally played in wrexham to have sellout games when it is still a predominantly a footballing area AND on the nicest weekend of the year is ludicrous. Give it time and the crusaders will start to attract new fans and grow in North Wales. Hate to use the old cliche But Rome wasn't built in a day

As has been mentioned, many Crusaders fans are new to the sport and as such are supporting their home team. So, whilst Wigan are a big team, the name doesn't mean a lot to many people new to the sport.

How is politely pointing out that only 6 thousand people bothered turning up to a game (figures gained from the Superleague website) that by most accounts was going to be a sell out 'trolling'???
Oh.. it's one of these 'I have no case to argue so ill call him a troll' type of responses eh Traffy??
Anyone know how many of the 6k were Wigan fans?

OK Bazza, given that the Leeds attendance was done to death about the Racecourse only holding just over 10k due to a terrace being closed for H&S please find me a quote with an estimated attendance of 12k from a Crusaders fan and it'll go some way to proving your not a troll (will never prove you're not a wind up merchant who refers to himself in the third person)

| The ground doesn't even hold 12k. Cacpacity for this game was cut to 8.5k as there was a safety issue with some of the fire alarms. Presumably a couple of thousand people that were expected to pay on the gate didn't, there were a lot of other things going on in the region that weekend, without trying to make excuses it clashed with a large music festival and the Champions League final which may have put off many Wrexham FC fans and locals who otherwise would have come.
I thought Barry McKenzie was banned from this forum, I will be querying on the Mods Board why this seems to have lapsed.

Slight apologies.. this guy reckons it will sell out at just under 11k. Says he is from South Wales so it would appear he is a Crusaders fan. As you can see he says there were just 2,000 tickets left on monday.

Save yourself the trouble mate.
I just won't bother posting on here again. No big deal. Doesnt seem like anyone else bothers anyway!
Good luck with your next big 'sell out' down Wrexham. I've heard there are only 26 tickets left for Crusaders next home fixture.
But that might all change if the sun comes out because die hard RL fans prefer a barbie to a bit of RL in North Wales so it seems.

I can't explain why so few people turned up to see arguably the best team in England but about 4500 turned up to see undoubtably the best team in Wales!

The person before suggested the ground held about 12k'" The capacity is usually around 10,500. Someone in the club shop said that there were roughly 2,000 tickets remaining, and this was also posted on the official Crusaders message board. We were then told that capacity had been cut by 2,000 for the match due to safety reasons, which may have meant that only 6,000 tickets had been sold. I don't know why people didn't turn up, maybe they included tickets sent to Wigan as being sold and they were returned, I don't know. Is it really that important though? Nobody really seems to be bothered by this at all other than you.
Your posts on here just seem a bit irrelevant now, considering that the new club is well run. ATEOTD, 6,000 is roughly the same as the club's record crowd when it was based in the South, and it is also a bigger crowd than Catalans got on the weekend. Go and pick fault somewhere else where it is deserved, Crusaders were a pathetic shambles last year and deserved all the stick they got but this is no longer the case and by staying here and trying to make out otherwise you're just making yourself look a bit stupid.

Behave will you, to be fair the vast majority of Widnes fans have moved on. Bazza is just a wind up merchant and certainly not a Widnes fan.

| I thought it was a decent crowd. It was all ticket though, had you been able to pay on the gate it would of been 7k +
We brought over 2.5k so not a bad effort from home fans of a NEW club.
Relative to how long they have been going, surely they have the best attendances in super league?
