He has always picked his team as he likes and I have almost always agreed that he has picked the best team available.The strong rumour from France is that Casty will play in the second row tonight and that Da Costa and Romano will be excluded from the 17. what a performance!! young kids all played well and nearly got the win. bloody pellisier that was so so dumb. what a try that would have been. anyway here are my ratings. i thought bousquet and navarette were immense, carney and albert kicked really well and escare and the 2 wingers were safe and started the sets off well.

I was at Warrington and agree with all the ratings except for Albert - he dropped a kick off which led to one of their tries so I'd deduct at least 1 for that. Great performance though and really enjoyed the match shame we couldn't hold out for win. Also good to see Richards get all his kicks in and Escare with safe pair of hands.

Once again we threw away a game we could,not necessarily should, have won due to bad individual errors. Albert's dropped ball and Broughton's bad positioning cost us the 2nd try,Gigot,s spell in the sin bin and Bosc 's poor tackle cost us the third. As for Pellissier his clever dick attempt at obstruction created a screen for the first try,his late tackle ruled out a try for us and when we really needed him to make progress near the end he delivered a forward pass
Otherwise I was impressed with most of our efforts.The newcomers were not up to super league requirements but they did their best and made few errors. Others ,above all Bousquet ,were outstanding. The Richards -Yaha combination looks far better than that of Duport and Richards. Escare' s defensive performance was his best for a very long time

Bernard has publically criticised Pelissier on the French site.Some of the fans agree .Others prefer a man who plays with his heart rather than ,I presume ,with his brain.
By chance I am currently reading"Crimea" by Orlando Figes ,who describes the French commader in chief General Pelissier as "a short stocky man wth a rough and ready manner" Colonel Rose,theBritish commissioner at French H.Q. says of Pelissier"he is a man of violent temper and rough manner,but I believe him to be just and sincere;and I think that in all important matters these 2 qualities will triump over his ebulliations of temper" Eloi was 25 yesterday .Will he ever learn self control? Will he ever pass a ball after he has made a break?How is it that Bosc after only a few games is already a far better number 9.?

I have always seen Garcia as a useful and skilled forward,though he lacks the size to make the hard yards. His 2 appearances at centre showed that he has not got enough pace to fill in there.If he is fit to play I think it should initially be at second line with Casty back at prop and Horo in the centre if Gigot gets a ban.

Pelissier is what he is. A little ball of aggressive energy. He plays the game in the moment and I'm not sure you can change him without damaging his game. He's still as he was in 2011, though a better player all round.

Garcia is a very valuable player to have around - a technically skilled, hard working forward. shame he didn't make it in the NRL but will very happily have him back...
