Hendo did ok and Gigot found his feet in the second half,Paea did ok but Clint wasn't dominating or taking control as usual - there were far too many ridiculous offloads which handed possession cheaply back to the Quins - this is not the Sydney Roosters level so TR has to accept the drop in level and play accordingly IMO - this present group isn't yet able to play to the style he's become accustomed to.Menzies and maybe Hendo & Clint are on the same level as TR,the rest need to catch up or TR needs to adapt his players to amore acceptable system.
My biggest problem was lack of mobility - David & Jamel looked like cart-horses - the dissappointing Dureau didn't do himself any favours.Slow thinking and total lack of imaginative kicking.

Dont we have enough back rowers? and without wanting to sound like a broken record, I think Deurau needs a, tommy alongside him and B, time,but i said that about Kevvie, Steve bell and Pez.

In fairness ti quins i thought they defended quite well and didnt really give clint any room, bearing in mind he was obviously gonna be the go to man without tommy

unfortunately not - but I think the guy on the chip stall could do a better job at the moment ! It's just a lack of ideas at scrum half & stand off and positional kicking and the general lack of urgency that bothers me.The second try was a mix-up which Clint should never allow to happen so i'm taking that as a one-off.
Contrary to popular thinking on this forum,I don't have a big problem with JPB - he's slimmed down a bit and looks more mobile/fitter and maybe could settle into a centre role ?

I don't have a problem with him. He's just not a dummy half. When the ball comes away from the ruck that slowly, the defence are on you before you've had time to look up. Same when Mounis plays there.

that's fair comment,JPB isn't the sharpest but that is my main problem with the performance as a whole in the two friendlies plus Quins match - the whole team seems lethargic - no urgency
comparing with the other MM games the Cats v Quins was played at a snails pace IMO

in defence of Dureau,he did pick up a knock to his left foot in training on thursday so maybe that affected his mobility ?

The tone is set in that regard by your dummy half. Henderson has always been sharp at getting out of there, everyone tells me Pelissier is the same. I just don't understand persisting with JPB.

its not just about the speed of the ball out of the ruck, its the organisation, were bemoaning the lack of organisation in the halfs, again that is set by no organisation out of dummy half to the recievers, JPB is not vocal enough to play there, or quick enough, or experienced enough.

Still, could be worse for TR, theyre already calling for bomber on the salford board.

as I have said JPB looks fitter & sharper so give him a fair chance - I thought he linked up well with Gigot & company during the pre-season games - a bit of patience please lads.
Regarding TR - he will do a good job and has the total respect of the players I spoke to at least - a different kettle of fish to the last man to occupy the hot-seat. I just hope he can do enough to pacify BG who expects so much from his team.I believe TR is a top coach who will do well in any set-up but as I previously said,this job is a poisoned chalice...
As for Mr McCrae,he's not doing himself any favours it seems......

If your dummy half isn't working, you could have Lockyer and Thurston at 6 and 7 and they wouldn't stand a chance. I suspect we won't know the full extent of the issues in the halves until the hooking role is resolved.
