With May coming up (when players can talk to other clubs), and a large portion of players at the club out of contract at the end of the season. I thought I'd do a thread to keep track of who has resigned and who's leaving.
So far Ryan Shaw for a further 2 years is the only one definitely re- signed. Though Will Oakes has also apparently re-signed.
Players who still have time on there contracts that I can think off are
Dagger (2 years left), McGuire,Lee,Walne (all 1 year left).

Im pretty sure heffernan signed a long term deal last year didn't he?

Think there will be a few retirements aswell think Scruton probably Bobby Blair, Danny tickle

Only problem is have with Abdul, was when he and Addy were on the pitch it was like having 2 of the same player. They made the same runs, and seemed to get in each others way the games i saw.

He's a good player, but I'm not sure he's what Rovers need.

Robbie Mulhern has signed a new contract till 2021. Great re-signing been a great performer in his 3 years so far.

Rumour on another site saying they're going to advise him to retire like Goulding.

We've had 3 players each given 3 year extensions this week. It's almost like some decision was made earlier this week when the SL clubs met, and we haven't been told yet.

Looking at fairly competitive squad,. But now it gets interesting.
Given that rumour/opinions are we need an overhaul to be challenging for the super 8's (if they stay), and that's 9/10 squad places filled (possibly more with the ones I don't know), are there going to be more?

Don,t know any contract detail, but think we need to retain any quality strike players before they receive alternative offers.. I would want Carney(if he would stay) same with Quinlan, and although it,s very early for him in a Rovers shirt Via Via. You don,t always need lots of matches to see true potential/quality, and other teams soon cotton on and could poach any player without a decent contract.
No team will ever improve by letting good players go elsewhere, and we have done this too often. We must retain quality and build upon it.
Like the fact that Rovers have offered contracts and been accepted to the three so far, but need to box clever.We have the support to be top four and hopefully the powers that be are on the ball.
Still think we need some heavy artillery in the forwards.

Good that Rovers are securing their best young players. Be nice when some of them are free from injury and able to play!

The presentations last Monday by Lenagan, McManus, Pearson & Hudgell seem to have gone down like a lead balloon with the lower league clubs and indeed one or two Super League clubs also. We seem as far away as ever from being able to agree something to put to SKY TV who must agree any changes in any case.

We have to presume that there will be no changes for 2019. If a Super League club loses the million pound game they will be relegated.

Hopefully Rovers will be able to survive yet another middle 8 appearance but if we don't the new contracts announced recently will be null & void.

whilst I agree Carney and Quinlin have been excellent this season. Offering them contracts leaves me in a bit of a quandary. Whilst they deserve it, they blocking some of the younger players who to get better need game time in my opinion. But it's a win win situation for Rovers, which is a nice position to be in. I'd personally like to see oakes moved to and give Carney a couple of years he's been brilliant for York there apparently. And if you think about it that's an exciting back line - Quinlin /Dagger, Shaw, VaiVai, Oakes, Carney.

VaiVai is apparently on a 6 month contract, with a year option. I'm with you, get him tied down to a decent contract as he proving his worth.
