I think he means it is strange from Catalans pov. A fee would obviously be a good thing from their pov. Perhaps we paid something to loan him - though in with one year left on his deal, why not just agree a transfer?

Anyway, he's been good and is a proper out and out second rower, of which we don't have all that many, with a few of our backrowers looking happier playing down the middle (Donaldson is another in the latter mould, I think).

Excellent signing Kevin is,has not quite been as effective since his injury but a good rest over the winter will see him firing next season and hopefully after that.

Why a years loan if they wanted a fee? We could have signed him on a permanent contract without a fee if Catalan had agreed. Only reason I can think is that there is a recall clause. I am not sure of the conditions applied by RFL to season long loans.

Maybe Catalan will offer him a new deal and he will accept it.

Apparently the decision laid with Larroyer who didn't want to commit beyond 2015. He ruled out a return to Catalan, preferring to continue his 'development' at Rovers who wanted to make his move permanent (backed by a fee). However, Larroyer has ambitions to play in NRL and I believe that's where he will be hoping to head in 2016.
