The wing spots now filled. Unsurprisingly Peter Fox polling the highest %, but more surprisingly for me, Luke Dyer, who played the majority of his games in the centre for us, winning the race for the other wing spot.
So on to the centres and the prime candidates for me include current centres Jake Webster and Kris Welham along with Jon Goddard, Whetu Taewa and maybe surprisingly to some Paul Parker.
Jake came to the club trying to prove himself as a centre and not a winger and started out like a house on fire. He has now moulded him in a very consistent perfromer in the centre for us in both defence and attack.
Kris Welham has worked really hard to get into the team, and now seems to have secured one of the centre spots for next season, and has been touted by some for international honours. He has come a long way in a short space of time.
Jon Goddard formed a great partnership with Byron Ford to help get us promoted and was argubly one of the best performers in that season. He was, in my opinion, not given long enough to adapt to life in Super League.
Paul Parker is an option for me as in some drab times for Rovers fans, he was one of the most consistent performers and scored some crucial tries. The one at Rochdale immediately springs to mind.
Whetu ran his blood to water for Rovers and was a great team player and captain. Rugged in defence and creative in attack its a shame that we never got to see him in a succesful Rovers team.
My two picks would be the two Kiwis, Webster and Taewa.
