| Getting the old 'no signal being received' message up on our box, tried all the usual remedies, none of which have worked. Spent about 30 mins on the phone with them while they tried all the same remedies, again none of which worked. We could have an engineer out but it would be Wednesday or Thursday - what the hell am I paying my 50 quid a month for :frustrated: So I said right that's not good enough, we'll cancel. I'll have to transfer you hold the line - back on the neverending 'hold' and gave up in the end.
Anybody got any ideas please :pray:

| Check and tighten all connections gently wipe viewing card and ensure it is in the correct slot. Try calling Holderness Satellites they are very good and offical sky agents.

| Had the same trouble last week. Tugged at the CONNECTIONS, not the cable and thought all was ok. Later tugged just the cable and came straight out. refitted it and all is ok now!

| Thank you, had already tried all those things before I posted on here. However I did get a suggestion from someone else which seems to have done the trick as it's working again now

| Check the cables at the back of the Sky box. My copper wire had come away from the socket so I needed to do a bit of DIY to extend the cable so it re connected. Did the trick though.
TBF to the guy from Sky he advised me to do it to save on the callout charge.

Sorry thought this was a thread about Neil trying to get more money off em Sorry counldn't resist
With the high winds lately I suspect your dish may have blown out alignment.
Not sure if you are getting any channels at all but with the dish out you may still get some but not all. Apart from geting up a ladder or on the roof yourself (If you do this don't take Emu up with you) you'll have to get Sky round to get em to look at it or any aerial fitter can do it for ya.
Have a look at your signal strength in Services and System Setup and see what your getting on the top bar. If it's only 25% across or less then your dish needs readjusting.
Could also be a faulty LNB which again you’ll have to get a professional in to sort out.

The guy who installed mine must have been , cost me £80 to get it sorted by a 'real' installer.

The box sounds ..................... knackered
They charge an earth to repair it, give em a ring and see what they can offer you Sky HD is looking quite cheap at the moment.
If you where considering changing up at some point now might be a good time.

It's fine now thanks
I already pay nearly £60 for Sky I'm not giving them any more bloody money!! I'm not one of the lucky ones who rings up to report something and gets offered a free sky+ box or something, even when I've threatened to cancel!!
