| And im not on about a change of chairman at Gateshull.
Just watching the derby again for a laugh, and Tansey attempts to trip Dobbo as he goes in for his try , he goes in with both feet and also attempts to trip Webbo going in with both feet when he scored his try to seal another victory for us, i remember Radders tripping ( not acid) at last seasons derby ,and also against when Gateshull played Bradford away last season , can anyone enlighten me to when & why this rule was changed because a trip or attempted trip used to be a straight red card ?

| I don't even think the incidents that you mention were even referred to the RFL disciplinary committee.
The attempt by Tansey against Webster was a two footed lunge.
i think the Sky team made a reference to it.
As for tripping it does not appear to be a straight red now.

| tansey was given a warning about his technique (or a letter) can't remember which, it was on humberside and in the mail on the tuesday or wednesday after the game.
They changed the automatic red card for tripping a few years back, it was one of those were you don't remember at the time the rule was changed but I remember phil clarke banging on about it in a sky commentary one night.

| If you have one hand on a player you can trip as far as I am aware although it is at the officials hands as to how they see it.
The one in the CC on the weekend was a bad one and should have been at least put on report if not yellow carded for intent.

I remember a certain Paul Harkin doing it at Elland Rd in '86 and getting sent off for it.

Just before half time he went for it? 12-6 down and blitzed into a 24-12 lead. 12 v 13, sensational stuff. Probably not seen a performance like it since.
Mike Smith was electric. Leeds didn't know what hit them! 24-24.
17-0 replay, Fairburn opening the scoring with a drop goal.
Marvellous.

And don't forget the extra 8,000 there for the replay only a few nights later
Couldn't believe the RFL doing that to us, making us go to Leeds twice in 5 days when Boothferry Park could have been used
Still, happy days, well at least until the final ![Sad icon_sad.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_sad.gif) That final was the last one without one of the 'top 4' teams not appearing in the final until this year

Didn't that technique used to be called a 'Cumbrian Throw' well by Eddie Waring and Ray French at least.
As for the CC 'trip' - I also though further action was warrented.

The most complete performance by a Rovers team in the history of Hull KR, imo.

Probably. But...
Both games were unbelievable, but I just think the 24-24 draw shaded it for the pure fact we were down to 12 men and the rugby that was played thereafter!

For excitement and tension the 24-24 draw was exceptional, but the 17-0 was near perfection and Leeds would have beaten a lot of sides that night.

Not a team with Gavin Miller playing the way he did in those two games. ![Cool icon_cool.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_cool.gif)

Was 0-0 at half time, If I remember rightly the ball never went into touch once in the first half (apparently it had never happened before). Alex Murphy had predicted Leeds would batter us and we saw him after the game and gave him some stick, he just smiled, shrugged and said 'what do you expect, I get bugger all right' and winked.

| Always remember Whitfield laughing out loud when after giving us a penalty the whole of the red army behind the sticks started singing 'Who's the nice guy in the black'. Quality. ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)
