| As Justin said he wanted more size on the park, he went for " a football decision.........................
Paul Cooke Height 196cm Weight 102kg
Ben Galea Height 178cm Weight 95kg
Ben Cockayne Height 175cm Weight 86 kg
Chev Walker Height 191cm Weight 101kg
Scott Wheeldon Height 183cm Weight 98kg
So why couldnt Chev have gone in at centre, then we could have kept the best half back combination in Cookie and Dobson, Wheeldon has been excellent of late, and Ben Cockayne would have been perfect at replacing Fithenry at Hooker. That then would have given us not only more size but also more skill and aggression.

- Galea is more more mobile than Cooke and has a lower centre of gravity and is stronger with it.
- It was right to player Chev in the 2nd row because of his size rather than leave out in the centre watching the pack getting smashed even more.
- The ommission of Wheedlon proved the correct decision because we looked the most assured and solid with Netherton and Mills in the front row - due to their size.
- Anyone who thinks Cockayne would be a better hooker than Fitzhenry just do not pay enough attention to the game; 1) Fitzhenry was excellent at starting hooker giving us excellent variation. 2) Cockaynes left-to-right passing off the floor is nothing short of shocking - which to me indicates that a lot of people don't know what they're talking about or don't pay enough attention to the game. Cockayne is a top-class utility back; not a hooker.

Teams with average size packs have seen off the mighty Huddersfield this season so for me size means nothing if you apply yourself properly and trust your technique.

| Maybe it's a style thing cos TBF, Hudds have caused us more trouble than any other team this season.
Where as when you look at Cas, they should have won both games against them this season...

| I have to say that against Huddersfield, both times this season, Justin has got it wrong.
The ommission of Cooke did mean too many players out of position and defensively, certainly in the first half, we were all over the shop. Cooke is a match winner I don't really see how our chances are improved by him not playing
In attack we looked unimaginative, it was too easy for the Hudds defence. Having said that we did create some decent scoring opportunities that we just couldn't convert.

Mate - think the situation with Scott was due to health issue rather than tactics

I'll say it. Walker is the biggest waste of money at Rovers. Mills has a purpose at least.

Think you've got a fixation mate.
Apart from the Scott Moore try (in which a couple of other players were also guilty), what do he actually do wrong

| The front row is where you are really lacking (Vella aside). You have made some very good signings over the last couple of years but you are really in need of a couple of big props.
If your front row weren't totally reliant on Vella you would have quite possibly beaten Hudds and you would certainly be in the semi-final of the CC.
Hull's props for me are pi$$ poor when compared to most SL teams but, as a group, yours are probably weaker.

Apart from white boots, tell me what be did to shake the ground at the Galpharm. The 8 minutes he did in each half that is.

TBF i wasn't referring to Mills, who was one of the better performers in terms of go forward. My point is that if Huddersfield pack is so big and dominant why are they not beating everyone?? Teams with smaller packs than Rovers have beaten them this season so size only means something if it is used properly. Technique, application and controlled aggression are the order of the day at all levels of rugby.
As for Walker he is a much better player than he's given credit for and being as he is just coming back from injury and has been played in three different positions, i think he's done ok. Second Row is his best position, his days are centre are over imo and he most deffo ain't a prop.

2nd row was always his best position and he did well there for GB but his problem was he never wanted to play there which is part of what led him to fall out with Tony Smith at Leeds I believe.

Have to agree there, the fact is Fozzard only got put on his ar$e because he went for a big shot against a big player who was fresh on taking his 1st drive... Fozzards technique was wrong, he didnt think what he was doing he just went for a big hit, same goes for Makka - he goes for a big hit but the player still has a chance to get back up as the tackle never gets finished off.
