| the Super League season, your thoughts.
Feeling very positive to date towards both our on and off field and also surprised....we were promised survival, consolidation and challenging but even the progress of our club has left even the most optimistic fan aghast.
On the park most fans would have taken a second position and a quarter final placing come the start of May and with more luck with injuries we could have seen HKR top of the league in only our third season in the top flight.
Despite the current economic climate looking round the ground it appears our advertisers have remained faithful and with three co sponsors of the game the other week that side of the off the field activity appears to be holding its own.
The most pleasing aspect above all appears to be our youth structure which appears to have had a complete overall during the past few months and the academy side appears to have some very promising talent amongst it.
Its certainly a great time to be a Rovers fan....COME ON YOU REDS.

| The team has been more consistent , previously in SL we had difficulty in getting back to back wins.
The defence has improved and our attacking flair is now evident.
The lack of warm weather pre-season training is now a forgotten issue due to the team performances.
We have improved strength in depth across the team now.
Oh . and I quite like the new away shirt.

| Performance wise we're nowhere near IMO. We've been scrappy and got lucky with things like Drew going off injured in the first set of the game against Wakey and Orr going off in the second half at Quins...etc.
However you can only play what is in front of you and you ride your luck when you get it.
Today we'll sing about going to Wembley but we've played a poor Celtic side and been drawn against Sheffield which should be a walk in the park however when we meet Saints/Wigan...etc thats when we'll see if we are Wembley class.
Getting the results maybe what matters in the SL but if you want to be a consistent side like Leeds, Saints, Bradford and Wigan you need to do more than scrape ugly wins against sides that are unlucky with injuries.
Many neutrals say that our high flying season just shows that the Super League is losing quality with the loss of the Aussies due to our quota and federation trained players rules. On the flip side of this the rule highlights players like Galea and Vella and the league only gets quality rather than quantity, but are there team mates of the quality of the "average" Aussies that were coming over previously?
I will however more than happily take an ugly Challenge Cup Final victory, win the league leaders shield with lucky wins and win the SL Trophy with biased ref's calls!!!!!!!!

No.
Successful teams have extra rounds of the Challenge Cup and then go on to play the play off matches.
Looks like a busy season for one of our teams

Nowhere near what? SL games being a cakewalk? Shows how far Rovers have come! We've been without our exceptional and inspirational captain for the large majority of the season, making our 8-1-3 start even more remarkable.
Today we'll sing about going to Wembley but we've played a poor Celtic side and been drawn against Sheffield which should be a walk in the park however when we meet Saints/Wigan...etc thats when we'll see if we are Wembley class.
I suspect we are currently better than Hudds, Catalans and Hull were when they reached the last 3 finals. Rovers would not look out of place at Wembley.
Getting the results maybe what matters in the SL but if you want to be a consistent side like Leeds, Saints, Bradford and Wigan you need to do more than scrape ugly wins against sides that are unlucky with injuries.
We're currently above 3 of them, a decent way into the season. Part of their consistency has been down to scraping ugly wins when it doesn't come easily.
Many neutrals say that our high flying season just shows that the Super League is losing quality...
Mostly fans of 'big' clubs whose noses have been put out of joint by upstarts like Rovers, Quins, Cas etc. If those 'big' clubs really are going backwards - good. The trophies you win are no less shiny for that. The Championship winning Rovers teams of the 80s weren't as good as what we have now - but in one very important sense they were better, because they beat the opposition they faced [ithen[/i and won trophies.
The dominance of the Big 2, the Big 4 before them and before that Wigan, could equally be evidence of a lack of quality to challenge them at those times.
I hope our coaches and players share your attitude and desire for further improvement. As a fan I'm going to continue in bemused exultation, wondering if it can last. Could we, might we, maybe, possibly, perhaps win a trophy sometime this year or next? I don't want to jinx it, but it isn't impossible.
