Very well spotted by someone at the club I will confess I wondered who he was but have been impressed with him. I also think that as he comes on he will move into the pack later in his career & will be even better.

Think that's a shocking call mate to be honest.
He like everyone (apart from Brisc) sometimes makes a mistake under the high ball, but I think he has a decent amount of pace, and if he lacks pace he certainly makes up for it in metre gaining

Great signing, he's really relished a fresh start at a new club. His kick returns are incredible and his work in our own half shouldn't be undervalued.

he was put on the wing to drive and gives our forwads rest but when i comes to defend kicks 7/10 he was beat or force a drop out, warrington, huddersfeild and hull (at times) took advantage of it, when the others twig i fear for what will happen.

I think thats harsh at best.
He has never seemed too bad at it.

but it also up to the payers with him on his wing to pervent this too.

but hes only play 11 games or so for the club so he should iron it out in a couple of months.

Luke has made a decent point.
Colborn was found out under the high kick at Warrington and also can be vunarable at times to the kick behind the defensive line.

However his postives far out weigh the negatives.
His workrate is 1st class
Defence spot on.
Kick returns probably up there with the best in SL.
If he gets sight of the try line he is big and powerful and can finish well.

With the emergence of Ainscough i can see why Wigan felt they could let him go but a great signing for Rovers so far.

Absolutely great signing IMO. Agreed that his kick returns are absolutely superb. He can also finish, which is an aspect of his game that is overlooked imo.

The only area i feels he need to improve on is finding his front a little more when scooting out of dummy half, but other than that i thinks he has been excellent.

Most wingers in the league struggle under a cross field kick, 90% of the time the attacker is on the run and winger is taking the ball from a standing position. This is why in these situations you need to double up on the attacker and give the winger a bit of support to make it as hard as possible for the attacker to get to the ball cleanly.
Colburn has been a great signing up to now, along with foxy they both make more metres out of our own half then any of our pack, he has also showed some deft finishing and seems a very good fit into our squad.

Ive always been of the opinion that it is in the defenders best interests to let the attacker jump and catch the ball and concentrate on getting in a good position to smother the ball preventing offloads/touchdowns. Obviously if the kick goes into the in goal then its got to be contested.
