Thats strange because an old drinking partner of mine and long time Kr fan who has lived and worked in Ausie for the last ten years or so, emailed me yesterday as he often does, informing me that a section of the local Aussie press was running a column about the NRL players that would be playing in Super league next season, within the story it was sugested that Mason had his visa and would probably be heading to the UK in the very near future.
So if you have heard different or have seen something that conrtadicts that particular story,then please leave the link so that we may all see it for ourselves.

Fair enough, however i think this is probably related to the recent claim that he was attemting to aquire a Tongan passport, which if sucessful would leave Rovers, still with a quoata spot to fill should they wish to.

Wrong, no matter what passport he has he will still be "non-fed". Which is all that counts now, all foreigners are all grouped together.

which just goes to show how reliable the press is on this matter as both the HDM, radio Humberside and the Sydney Morning Herald all broke the story that rovers wanted him to get a tongan passport to sign another aussie etc. You'd think the lazy journo's would actually check some facts first. Personally I take everything reported on the willie mason saga with a pinch of salt as I'm sure most of it starts on these message boards before finding its way into the papers

Well said. As much as I want to see Mason in a Rovers shirt, I think Blake Green has the potential to have a bigger impact on next season than Mason would.

i hope Mason does get here, but the longer its dragged on the more likely IMO it is he wont get here. just reminds me of the whole Crocker signing, will he wont he get here.

It is still (just) 2010 and we haven't had any new equivocation from the club or player since 'subject to obtaining a visa'. We gave him a squad number not long ago and he's said he's coming. There has clearly been some sort of delay, but until something 'real' is in the press or released by the club, we're fretting over nowt, IMO. I believe the paralells with the Crocker situation reflect our preoccupations rather than being obviously relevant.

Will he get a game ahead of Leon Pryce though?

Your reply to my post regards the aus press seemed to refer to me talking crap if not then why the smutty so which aus press is this then remark. Even my 9 year old son finds searching the net for information simple so why couldnt you just have a little surf find the story i refered to and indeed agree that it existed and inform me of your opinion of there report instead. that was why i asked for an apology. Lets be honest brutally honest here even some elements of crap come from the hull kr board to us the fans directly from there lips, we believe then later find out its not true. I say until mason is here and lining up for rovers then anything is possible only a fool would think otherwise. This doesnt mean i dont think hes coming just would rather wait until hes here before i get too excited.

Mason will be an addition to S.L. as far as I am concerned,and for all the hype he is not going to win the league single handed.
As for Crocker,I was disappointed at the time,but I reckon either Ogre or Fitz
are adequate replacements.
