Your fellow kr fans must be cringing at that statement, i know lots of kr fans and they all feel he would have been a week link against the aussies, yes he has a fast scoot, but you have to ask why he gets the ball kicked to him a lot more than Briscoe does'"
Briscoe is now the weak link as he is now the most inexperienced back in the team and the Aussie's will target him .No Hull v Rovers bias this is a fact and if our pack don't get on top of the Aussie's and try to keep the game in the middle of the park he will have a torrid day as will all the backs.
by the way i only remember one high ball going to Bricsoe against France and he dropped it every back does not just fox

Does inexperience mean the weakest link? I agree with your point about the pack getting on top but i think the likes of Shenton and Lee Smith are under as much pressure as Tom Briscoe is. Ryan Hall as an inexperienced too. Tom's level headed attitude will do him just fine i think. I do fear for us though against their backs in general.

Been the most inexperienced does not automatically make him the weak link. Shenton, Hall, Eastmond and Tomkins have never played against the Ozzies either.
FWIW Briscoe has played at Wembley so might have more big game experience then say Shenton.
Either way tomorrows game will be a different level for a lot of the younger English lads.

Tom is is a centre who has been put on the wing as he is strong in the tackle but he is not a fast as an all out winger and as he is the only player out of position so he will be classed by the Aussie's as the weak link

Your doing a dis-service to his pace there. He's not much slower than he brother and we know how quick he is.
He has also played more first team rugby on the wing rather than at centre, so although he is naturally comfortable in the centres i dont think he should be classed as out of position.

I'd pick fox as well, purely because I don't think it will do briscoe any good to be in a side on the end of a likely hammering. fox is finished anyway so it doesn't matter about him

Very impressive.

| Cant believe the vitriol about both wingers on this thread. Fox is out Briscoe is in. Because Briscoe is in AND playing for England he gets my full support.
Hope the Aussies dont dent his confidence.

tomkins is a 6 playing at 7, peacock has not played second row for a few seasons. but yes tom briscoe who's played the majority of his super career at wing is playing out of position.

Since Offia there have been far, far better wingers than Fox, off the top of my head I could name 20, who have scored better trys and where betetr players than Fox.
Personally I think it's a sad state of affairs looking at the current state of our backs for England, on paper we have the worst backs I have ever seen for England.'"
Nope.
Offiah is a different class to Fox.
I'm merely making the point that Peter Fox in top-form is the closest thing I've seen to Offiah since his retirement (mainly more in the context of style rather than ability).

To be fair, you've probably been watching the likes of chorley, dewsbury and workington for most of that time so it's hardly surprising

| I have this feeling that the Aussies will underestimates Briscoes strength and he will catch them out. Just a feeling but even at the end of the this season when players know his game, forwards were still going high on him and he was shrugging them off. Reminds me a little of Vaikona who had mongloid strength too.

Not a chance, Ryan Hall has owned Fox all year for a start. There are a lot of good wingers in SL and Fox is amongst them, there is just something holding him back imo and I don't know what it is.
He can score great tries but he also blows easy ones through poor handling or not reading the game properley. As for the long range tries, against Leeds in the playoff's he went through a gap, now Hall had the same opportunity and put his foot on the gas and backed himself, Fox stuttered and stumbled and then took the wrong option.
Fox has great pace but not a lost else imo and is overrated at present.

absolutely but zod seems to think that Fox is in the same class. Robinson RL legend, Offiah an embarasment to the game at times very fast and elusive but no balls, Fox average winger
