Is there a more enjoyable way to spend a weekend? A simply enormous performance to turn in under those conditions. Okay, we weren't at the Stade Gilbert Brutus so some of Catalans' imposing crowd was absent but they still managed to crank up the atmosphere in there, and all credit to turning up in the numbers that they did (even if 12,000 seems wildly inaccurate) its proof if any was needed that the Perpignan club has benefitted the game hugely.
And to the actual game, then. I know he has his doubters and at full back, when things go wrong he is the first to be blamed but wow, can Greg Eden play. What actually impressed me more than his 3 tries, all of which were classic full back tries that we haven't seen the likes of since Cockayne against Championship clubs, was his ability to hold his own as a last line of defence. He must've made 4 maybe 5 one on one tackles with blokes in full flight to save certain tries. The last minute break down the left by Duport(?) certainly sticks in the mind as tremendous calmness under pressure. Brilliant performance and as long as he keeps his feet on the ground and doesn't buy into his own 'Super Greg Eden' hype we've got a diamond on our hands.
Another of our ex Huddersfield contingent who was huge for us on Saturday was Adam Walker. Having watched brother Jonny give it to Hull on Friday night the stage was set for Adam to deliver and did he ever! He's been probably Rovers' most underrated player this year and backed up his outstanding job on Eorl Crabtree by standing up to probably the most formidable pack in SL and continually taking the game to them where it's most difficult.
To be honest, I could eulogise about individual performance all day. One final mention though, and for who else but Michael Dobson. I don't know about anyone else but watching him line that kick up, I could barely stand still and watch, never mind steady myself enough to slot the goal. Nerves of steel.

Lovely city, quite compact in the centre, as ever, outside of Paris, great French people. Good food as long as you don't have any ethical issues with foie gras. Interesting architecture and a highly amusing Sunday morning flea market, where I was lucking enough to be able to purchase a genuine bottle of "Karlin Clevin" perfume. Even the stall holder laughed as he told me it was "Calvin Klein".

Not sure it was Duport, could have been but he was playing on the other side, whoever it was there was no way on gods green earth he could have collected that kick on the full and have been onside.

Duport really has bulked up and is a real handful compared to the skinny rangey kid I remember from their first visit to CP.

Eden has impressed me in his last ditch one on one tackling immensely in the last month compared to the beginning of the season when it was frankly beyond embarrassing. Credit has to go to Sandercock, someone has clearly got hold of him and completely reworked his technique.

Disco Dave mad an absolute copy book track back and tackle, overtook the man, shepherded him towards the touch line and then brought him down in a manner which made an offload to supporting players impossible and also prevented a quick play the ball.

I was really impressed with that play from Hodgson, showed good pace to get back and make it as well as the technical ability that we know he has.

We're ace us, like the Rovers versions of Jake The Peg but with intelligence, wit and Panache by Lentheric.

It looked to me as though lovegrove retained his position on the left hand side for the first half and then they swapped in the second.
