I've been to all grounds above and I would say that Celtic and Salford and Wakefield are worse than our grounds, and Saints and Castleford are on par with us. That's just my opinion.

I think instead of using the money from Club Rovers to make the ground barcode entry, they should use the money to buy another temporary stand for the Grimsby end, or invest in this 'amazing stand' that we have only seen artists sketches of, and if there is money left over, spend it on the trivial things.

The club loyalty scheme on the old site is miles better than the new site though

Don't forget the new classrooms, the new pitch, brand new floodlights. truth of the matter is that in only our third year in SL, we have done more than all the afore mentioned clubs, and your statement not unlike your first, is yet again completely wrong.

No I used a mnemonic device to shorten it so the word "new" needed a capital letter. I suppose I could have written "new CP" but I chose to write "NCP" instead.

The South Stand is undeniably terrible but the rest of the ground always seems fairly tidy. We do need the North developments to get off the ground as that will imho secure our future.

I must be on my own here but music festival toilets aside, I actually liked Brewery Field a lot.

When did weed killer cost £350,000. and as I said before, as regards a new north stand that is for future development, ( as you righly said ) and for a year you know there was a link to the plans on the Rovers site, until Rovers redesigned their web page, but if your that interested, you can go to the guildhall and ask for copies of the submitted plans to planning, I look forward to you posting them on here

At the end of the day, while your ground is terrible its hardly old and falling down

I think thats a pretty fair comment, but I would have done a small edit

spraying weed killer, painting stands and ensuring you havie a good standard playing surface all fall under general maintenance of the stadium . (IMO of course)


The reason i mentioned the north stand is that when the licences where issued rovers expected to have the stand ready by the end of this season.
The clubs that the rfl have warned today also promised things which haven't yet materialsed.

Anyway I'm suprised at the statement given the recession.

The thing is ours is just redevelopment and although it may have slipped to the left a bit it is still fundamentally underway, work albeit a bit superficial has started on the north end and the east has been extended. The teams mentioned are all awaiting new grounds which are a lot more exposed to the current financial climate and plan B's don't exist if backers pull out and the go ahead is lost.

And we have a winner.

Although the RFL will probably want to see some progress on the upgrades in the not too distant future or you may be getting a similar letter next season.

I usually end up standing under one of the cute little roof holes we have dotted all over the place and the poor sods in the stand experience the wonders of paying large sums of money to sit on wooden seats that probably pre-date the Northern Union!

Believe it or not, Knowsley Road has held 36,000. That's the record attendance, I think in the 1940s (but it may be 1950s), for a Wigan-Saints match and included people sitting on one of the roofs. And that was when the Pop Side (the home covered terrace) was wooden and the toilet was the back wall.

We have been actively trying for 20 years to get a new stadium but to do so we needed the Council on board and they refused all invitations until McManus joined us - the man is a business genius. If Taylor Wimpey, the company buying Knowsley Road, don't go belly up (and they threatened to do so at the beginning of the year) then we should be in our splendid new stadium at some point during 2011. I think every Saints fan will miss Knowsley Road but likewise every Saints fan recognises the need for a new stadium.

So far as I can see, Hull KR are doing just fine. You ticked the stadium box when the licences were handed out, didn't you? Surprisingly, we didn't (along with the 10 mile thingy) and that's why we're on the RFL's naughty list. You didn't fail it, I presume, so you're not on it. So you didn't get one of the RFL's special letters.
