with little grace
and poor taste.

I'm assuming that's a poor grammar related jibe.

Actually it wasn't.

I like things that can be read or understood two ways.

Uncertainty and ambiguity,
lacking in acuity,
Either hazy or opaque,
Just spit it out for heaven's sake.

It's clearly the wife, although the farmer himself my also be heartened by her jolly disposition.
