I don't need to get over it, all I asked for was clarification.
Wouldn't seem much point asking about tickets for the north stand, they will probably be on sale before they reply
Once Rovers announce when they are going on sale, someone from my family will be there in the queue.'"
Sorry I owe you an apology, I missed the i.e. in your message.
I personally don't know if they are donating from season pass sales, I would hope that they are doing this, otherwise it is not good IMO.

Exactly. My point is that the differential is a) far less than that applied to away supporters for Craven Park derbies and b) Hull FC are not profiteering here, they are giving the money to charity. Rovers fans getting all indignant about it just look ridiculous.

Hull FC aren't giving any money to charity. They'll be keeping 100% of their usual ticket revenue for a derby and mereley forwarding on all of the extra money on behalf of the paying customers.
I just think it's very odd that instead of Hull FC dipping into their own pockets to be charitable, they're dipping into ours (and by "ours" I mean all of the paying fans)

Hudgell tested the theory that fans will pay over the odds for a derby ticket to the tune of £7 or so each and pocketed the difference. You can hardly criticize FC for recognizing that fans will pay extra and choosing to donate the extra to a good cause - that would make you look cheap and two-faced

It is a fair point, but you do not know that FC are not giving the £9000 or so from season pass holders (FWIW I do not think that they will in which case you are right)
I do think that what Rovers do to the FC fans each and every season, and for no charity other than yourselves is worse.
If FC had have kept their mouths shut and just put prices up for this game, then after the event donated to charity, you would have no argument whatsoever. The mistake is FC giving a reason up front for their actions, in which case, this is a non issue. In any event, if you don't want to pay it, then don't and don't attend the match. In any case, your tickets ar enot even available to buy yet.
I suggest you be more concerned as to why that is, rather than blaming a £1 charity charge as being the issue

£17 for the South Stand i beleive, when they are normally £10 for every other side. I think Rovers complaining about an extra £1 when we have to fork out an extra £7 is a little two faced to be honest!

You didn't pay extra then. There could be a number of reasons why the prices are not reduced for the derby (the need for more stewards, for example) or maybe it's just because someone is actually using that end for a change.
Saying that, I can't say I agree with charging £17 to stand in the South end. But from a business point of view it was a pretty smart move because it was full of fans.

Firstly I hope you're not including me in the 'indignant' brigade. I don't have a problem with the additional funds going to Children in Need but I would still like clarification of how much of the day's profits, they (HULL FC) will actually be donating. Donating to CIN is a tremendous gesture, but as things stand at the moment, by bumping up ticket prices they are not donating anything, the paying fans are donating an additional pound. Perhaps Hull FC could do a 'match' on the amount raised on ticket sales?
As regards Rovers prices for the derby match, I think I'm correct in saying the normal price to stand is £17 (not sure as I have a pass), we know that Hull FC will sell their allocation so don't need to dangle any carrots to get people there. When we offer the South Stand at £10 this is a discounted price to encourage clubs that don't bring many to bring more, or to fill it with more of our own supporters when we know teams won't bring much support. Sound business sense. Whether you think it's a crap view in the south stand or not (I wouldn't argue with you!) you have a choice whether or not to attend, just as we have the same choice regarding the upcoming derby game. If roles were reversed (and yes I have stood at the Gordon Street end of the Boulevard many times) then I would still attend even with a distant view.

Hull are not charging more than the advertised price. It's advertised as a pound more.
Anyway, I personally do not agree with the extra pound. I feel that the club should have done a bucket collection. It seems pretty stupid to me to say hull are donating to charity when neither the club or it's season ticket holders are contributing a penny.
Anyway your contribution to this years children in need in the name of Hull FC is greatly appreciated.

| I look forward to a similar thread next January, slagging Rovers fans off for failing to attend the Richard Horne testimonial.
Hang on a min, as we will no doubt sell our allocation for that, perhaps we may lose our "indignant" tag just for a day?

That's exactly the problem. Hull taking the money off us Rovers fans then giving it to charity as if they've raised/donated it themselves. I think that's disguisting.

You're missing the point. Hudgell chose to charge Hull FC supporters £17 for the South Stand. Did any other away supporters get charged the same? All that extra money was put into Rovers bank account. If Rovers fans are willing to pay £1 extra to see the derby, then, as Trace has said, that's good business - it's a free Market. Those extra £1s are therefore Hull FC's income to do what they want with. Hull FC are choosing to donate those £1s to charity. Let's see if Hudgell does the same this year.
