| Quote Robbo4 said: The point being you have to pay £60 to get a "discounted ticket". In fact I would say Rovers no longer have a "discounted ticket" as the only way to get a "discount" is to pay the extra money up front. In fact as I read it, it will now actually cost more to buy a season pass then it did before the membership scheme was brought in. Even without the "discount"?
The cheapest seating season pass was £210. In order to get a season pass for £210 next season you have to spend £60 otherwise its £260. Have I got that right?'"
If indeed this is correct...then thats 2 less season passes then from this house...if me and my daughter cannot buy 2 reduced price passes as we have done for the last 5 years by buying in the earliest discount period...without now having to buy 2 memberships at £60 each ....then thats decision made i'm afraid !!!

| Am i reading this correct. I have been a season pass holder for the east stand for a number of years now and have enjoyed the benefit of being one of the 1st in the que for renewal. Now if i choose not to buy into this scheme, but lets just say enough new and old do to fill the east stand, phases 1 and 2 allows for club rovers members to buy the season pass before me.Therefore, theoretically, a welcome new fan who has never been to rovers before could infact be standing in my place in the east stand for the forseable future.

So infact they are not rewarding the loyal fans, just giving new fans a backdoor entry into the (hard to get tickets for) east stand.

Must admit, it's far more like something FC would do in terms of PR and consulting the fans beforehand.

Rather watch from the south stand than not at all, but thats not my point. Although i would be able to afford this, i don't like the idea of being ripped off. IE if I and the missus get passes 2501 and 2502 whats the point, we'll never benefit from half price derby tickets, she doesn't bother with a shirt. I for one would not be happy if i was pushed out of my east stand spot because of this. When a club should be helping fans in these difficult times they throw this one in. I know all clubs need to find cash as well in these times but i don't think alienating loyal fans is the way to go about it, Rovers are scoring an own goal with this one i think at this moment in time.

Sympathy for you mate. I actually applaud your board for how they've managed to deflect attention away from what is an absolutely massive increase in season pass prices. It's a sleight of hand that david blane would be proud. of. Hats off to them. Are they doing it now to try and use the feel good factor before your season fizzles out or it it just they're desperate for the cash?

If you decide not to become a member of the £60 club your season pass is going to cost £50ish more next year even if you do manage to get one in the East stand. TBH it seems like the club are trading on fans loyalty here because that is a massive price rise whether you become a member or not.
In essence your choices are to pay £60 to get your season pass at the same price as the earliest discount period this season. Or be forced to pay the full price of the undiscounted period. Either way your season pass is going up by around £50 next year. At a time when money is tight that is a slap in the face to the loyal fans IMO.

| If i pay the £120 extra (me and the missus) it will cost a total of £478 for us both next season, if i don't it will cost £442 for next season, last season it cost £358, quite a hike for all, and by paying £442 i also lose my 10% discount on my home and/or away shirt. You have to spend loads to save loads with the £60 extra. They are making it out as though your gaining £5 off home and away shirts if you pay tje £60 but in fact if you don't pay the £60 you are losing 10% off your home and away shirts......only one winner here i'm afraid, and it aint us fans.....can anybody convince me this is a good thing? i don't think so.......
i hate to say it but my conclusion is........

| Its worth doing if...... you have the £60 now, you will be buying a season pass for the next 2/3 years, you buy at least one shirt and something else from the shop, you are in the 1st 2500 that get one, and you want to go to the Derby at the KC.
With these things above you will save £62...... so you will infact save just £2 all together but will 100% get a season pass for were you want next season, 100% get a derby ticket for the KC......and if they throw anymore little extras in like priority challenge cup tickets or extra discount on Magic weekend etc. (but not likely)

So taking all that into account, if you're not going to join 'the club' there's not much point in having a season pass. I seriously think this is going to backfire on Rovers.

Correct and according to GML this is a respectful way of treating fans.
Having said that if you can afford to paying the £60+ pass before the end of september you're better of doing that as you'll end up paying even more

Oh believe me I know that, but I feel as if you are being forced into signing up or risk losing your spot in the East Stand or whatever. I don't have a spare £90 so I'm going to have to take that risk.
I may be in the minority, but I am not alone, I have spoken to others who aren't joining either.

The passes were £220 ish this year, its just that if you bought them early (in the first discounted period) you got one for £180 and that price was frozen from 2008.
Don't get me wrong, it is an increase and a discount we got for nothing last year, we now have to pay for. However, you would expect between 2008 and 2011 pass prices would increase, but assuming they stay at £220 thats £84 saving for a £60 outlay plus the other advantages and discounts the membership brings.

That is what I said. To me the membership is a roundabout way of putting pass prices up a bit each year and offsetting it with a saving and some other advantages. It also nets the club some money they obviously need. It's clever on the club's part, but I wouldn't say it's a rip-off for the fans either.
