I think we've had this discussion before and the precedent is that penalty tries don't score so will accept that.

My take on this is that a penalty try cannot by definition be scored by any player. A penalty try is awarded when a try would have been scored. Had Ben Jones-Bishop actually scored a try then it wouldn't have been a penalty try.

There is also the potential for a situation where more than one player could have scored the try (admittedly unlikely in this case). If you start allocating penalty tries to players you're just setting yourself up for trouble as you're just guessing which player you think would have scored, even though he didn't.
