| As these are to remain as advertised I'm afraid that my long association with Doncaster RLFC has come to an end as I am not willing to pay £10 to watch Championship 1 rugby.as an O.A.P

| I for one am sad to hear that Harry.
We raised the concerns as promised but the Club (as I posted on the Season Ticket thread) are standing by their decision.
Isn't a Season Ticket at £80 an option?
(12 games - works out at less than £7 per game)

I hope it doesn't come to that Harry as i know you have dipped in your pocket for many years for the Dons,in many ways, and it shouldn't have had to come to this.
As said previously the club cannot afford to lose any fans at this time.

Gary
A season ticket is not an alternative as due to holidays I will not be able to attend all games. Thanks for your efforts and wish you all the best for the future

I'm glad you said.............I wouldn't dare for fear of being victimised.
Just look at this:-
Quote The Supporters Society (Trust) Committee raised this issue with representatives from the Club yesterday evening.
As Carl Hall was unable to attend the meeting, John Scarrow (Chairman) fielded the question and advised that the Club took a decision that they wished to get Children (and therefore Families) to the games - hence the £1 per game offer to 5 - 16 year olds.
Beyond that they pitched the prices as they believed appropriate to achieve a required level of revenue once the Childns price e had been factored in. They accept that this has not proved popular with a[size=150 small[/size number of people but acknowledge that they won't please all of the people all of the time.
John pointed out that the Club believe the Season Tickets (for all supporters) to be an extremely good deal and understood that they are priced as attractively as anyone else in our division.
The prices for match day and season tickets will remain as advertised.
Gary Fox
(Chairman - Doncaster Ruy League e Supporters Society).'"
If they feel that it is just a [size=150small[/size number of people........and as far as I can see they are the only people complaining....since it is acknowledged that the rest of the price structure is good value.....then what would it cost to give them the full concession on match days...when compared to the loss of good will.
I suppose if pushed further....they could always fall back on the usual excuse of the systems are in place and it would cost too much to change it now.
I think we should support wahs in some way and not let this issue drop.
Certain individuals will accuse me of trying to damage the club....that's not my aim....I want to help put right a wrong.
I have already said that my protest might be to just be a travelling Dons supporter.....the Dons get my vocal support but none of my money.
I haven't decided yet.....but I won't be buying a season ticket....since if this is anything to go by.....I fear deja vu.

| To extend the comments reported by myself based on John Scarrows response on Thursday...
The Club were clearly aware that this was going to be raised and were prepared with John quoting figures on the number of OAP's who had attended home matches in 2009. The average being around the 30 mark (including away supporters). If I remember correctly he stated that only 2 paying OAP's attended the Gateshead match.
Please do not take my response as an opinion I am merely adding a little more detail to the information previously provided.
The Club did also point out that last season it was over 65's in 2010 it will be over 60's.

I can only report what was said as I don't honestly have any knowledge of OAP prices or conditions for last season.

I didn't think anyone was - I was merely making it clear that I was reporting what was said by the Club representatives as it was something I didn't have any personal knowledge of.

As I usually travel with Harry(WAHS) to matches to share travel costs as I live at Shorpe and he at Ealand near Crowle,I shall be another supporter of over 50 years whose support may come to an end.I paid £60 for a season ticket last year and saw only 9 games, the other 6 I missed due to holidays, family occasions and 2 games at Featherstone, so I shall not be buying another season ticket. With regard to the £10 match day price it will also cost me £10 in petrol for each game plus parking so at over £20 per match which as a pensioner will not be acceptable. I shall ,therefore, go to watch Shorpe Barbarians where there is no charge to watch and the travel of no significance

| It does seem to be a strange time to be losing the old faithful fans when
the club has just received a lottery grant towards the Heritage Project.
These guys who have supported the club through thick and thin for over
half a century would have been the best people for the young kids to learn
about the Dons past i would have thought.
Yes the Kids are the future--but lets not forget that without the die-hard
supporters of the past the club may have ceased to exist many years ago.
