Hi guys, as much as you're big favourites, here's a little insight to the Cougars, a well drilled outfit who are underrated in the Chanpionship.

Under rated by who?
No one at Widnes will under rate the Championship, great division which we found very tough.

| I do fear a little for us on Thursday, talk yesterday at our home game was of squad rotation, and the cup game may not be our priority, I do know of at least 1 key player who wont be playing on Thursday. The Cougar fans who are going to make the trip will also be accompanied by at least 100 Paul Marche's, should bring a smile to a few people watching on sky, Any advice on where to drink before the game, its been a while since I last visited Widnes.

Are you the kit man?!
The players would play in the same boots they'd play on any other pitch at this time of the year, so much more is made of this pitch than needs to, not much different is reality.
Wouldn't have thought we'd rest too many, we need to make sure we get through semi final is a big achievement for us at this stage of our development. I'd suggest a similar team to the one that played Catalans on Friday, with maybe one or two bench players like Isa & Lawton starting.
Plenty of pubs either side of the ground with the bowling club at the back of the main car park a good place too.

| We'll I hope a few come from Keighley, as only £10 admission for Adults and free for the kids. Hoping we rest Tickle as the guy needs it. Hope to see Mellor back for the first time for a few months too. Possibly Carberry, Lawton, Hulme and Gore to be given a run out.

| I will be stunned if we put our first team.
We have a far more important game 5 days later.

| Wignes are awesome, despite not being promoted to Super League, and then being exempt from relegation. If this game was on grass, could be a game worth watching. As it's on the plastic shyytte, Scousers win by 48.

Very disappointing if Keighley put out a weakened team. Why try and progress in the cup only to do this at the quarter final stage, and in front of the TV cameras.

Ask the RFL why they've allowed the ridiculous scenario of a part time team having to play 2 games in the space of 4 days , both long distances from home and you have your answer.
The Championship set up this season means that five clubs face the drop into Championship One next year , a drop that with the massive cut in revenue that relegation will bring could well put the very future of some clubs at risk . We for obvious reasons do not want to be in that situation ,making every league point ,including those up for grabs at Whitehaven on Tuesday, priceless.
The Cup Run has been great in terms of publicity and exposure for the Cougars but that will count for nothing if we go to the wall in 2015 due to relegation.
We've also players missing due to work commitments ( in these times of job uncertainty how many of you out there seriously would know that their boss would let them finish early twice in one week without complaint ?) and others missing out who's (through age , previous injury, physical nature of their employment etc ) recovery time between games is longer .....situations that are a million miles away from the FT environments of SL Clubs.
Marchy has a squad of 32 players and will utilize the vast majority of them over these two games . Everyone of these players .bar one [i(the current Player of the Season who has just returned to the club after taking time out to do his University Finals)[/i has played first team rugby at some stage in 2014 - and all will pumped up ready for a shot at the vikings .
Looking forward to the day out -obviously the decision to hold the game on a Thursday Evening will affect the number of Cougar Supporters travelling but there is at least a couple of coachloads and plenty in cars making the trip , plus a fantastic group from the North Wales Crusaders who are joining the Keighley Mob for the evening .

| Absolutely well said I agree there Rach. The team arriving are not going to be juniors, it's going to be a strong team who will want to win. The attitude on boots n all stank, it shows the clear detachment of the commentators from the championships. We have won 5 of our last 6 yet still are teetering on the edge of the drop. League points are worth their weight in gold at this stage.
Leigh haven't lost, they can afford a massive blow out at Leeds. Sadly Keighley can't afford to play the core team players 4 days before a mammoth Tuesday night trip to Cumbria especially without a coach serving an unprecedented 2 month ban..

| Was quite looking forward to this game, but Keighley with '10 changes' to their regular line up, will be NO CONTEST. Think the RFL should be more accommodating to 'part time' clubs in situations like this. Keighley & Leigh both facing 'tough' league games with only a '4 day rest' after facing SL opposition in the Challenge Cup.
My team Leigh aren't resting players at Leeds, but with Cougars only 5 points above the relegation zone (despite being 6th in the table), who can blame them.

| Crazy that you play Haven on Tuesday, don't blame you for fielding a weakened team then it's just a bit of a shame you don't have the opportunity to have real go at the quarter final.
