It is reported on the TIW site that Pat Cluskey is leaving the club and it seems that Pat has indicated this is more a club decision than his own.

I just wanted to reiterate on here what I posted on TIW.
I have had a few dealings with Pat and he has always struck me to be an excellent representative of the club. Perfectly summing up the community values that RL is so proud of Pat has often personally taken responsibility for making sure that fans have their season tickets and players attend community functions.

On my wedding day I was presented with a signed shirt presented to me by Esene Faimalo and Tim Holmes all arranged by Pat at the request of help from my now wife.

He has always struck me as a fantastic link between the club and the fans.

He has also been a fantastic ambassador for this club and I would like to thank him for his attempts to keep all fans up to date on matters affecting the club during our dark days and nights of administration. He has always spoke well on all general RL matters and sounds intelligent and comprehensice when discussing all things relating to this club within the media.
It is a shame he has had to leave now when he would no doubt have been a genuine asset in the upcoming months as our club undergoes the scrutiny of the franchise applications and the media turn their gaze our way.

Thanks Pat, and I hope all goes well for you. I'm sure all Widnes fans would like to thank you for your hard work and dilligence.

Pat also arranged with Tim Holmes and I to get a signed shirt presented to my brother on his wedding day, Michael Ostick was given the task with a surprise appearance from Richard Fletcher on the day who had kindly stuck around after training.

It's those things that stick in the mind and the culture that Pat has helped nurture is second to none.

Shame to see Pat go. He’s been a great ambassador for the club and has worked tirelessly over the years. I wish him well.

I wasn’t really putting forward an opinion either way on that, Asterix. I was just stating a fact.

Pat gave a lot of time and effort into getting the Vikings in the Community into Runcorn schools. Some Runcorn schools now have rugby league teams. He also, along with Paul Cook, got the Runcorn summer conference side going back in 2005. He gave a good go of getting the club promoted around south Liverpool. Unfortunately, a small but vocal section of the Widnes supporters weren't as welcoming to potential fans from outside the town as Pat was. I hope he does find a job which keeps him in the game. He'll be an asset to someone.

Quite a few of the backroom staff seem to have gone in the last 12 months or so (Pat Cluskey, Mike Banks, think also Martin Davidson from the community dept). We can only assume its cost cutting and hopefully if we get back into SL then the operation will be ramped back up.

I suppose we can't blame the club - Whilst we are playing at this level, there is only so much that can be done to bring the fans/money in. Just think its a shame for both the people who have moved on, but also the fact that the club have felt they have had to make cut backs.

Not so sure on that V4E - hasn't Mark Naughton been given a role within the club?

Pat is a great guy and a very talented RL administrator. Im sure he'll still be in the game. I was very grateful for what he did for me and wish him all the very best.

One thing for sure, cut him in half and he is black and white. He loves your club

Well I suppose a few more people like so jah seh and Wirralviking would be a step in the right direction, as would a few less people like Pop Cider, but that's life. I've always found most Widnesians decent enough.
