Looking at the Sky Sports Website the game between Barrow & Widnes has been re scheduled for Thursday 13th August 7:30 pm !!!!!

That ruins any chance of a bumper crowd !

Correct, you will be lucky to get 10 from Widnes for that one given the driving distance.

Better news for me that seeing as though I am on nights on the Sunday. Still won't make the game as I'm on days and finish at 7 on the Thursday.

Utterly rubbish decision by Sky. Puts paid to any plans we for going and I was well looking forward to a trip to Barrow.

Is the SKY thursday night slot worth it ?

It's the obvious choice. only thing wrong with it was it could have been chosen earlier

Bizzare, absolutely barmy. Dont understand the logic behind SKY's desicion to show championship games on a thursday night. Its such a disruptive night to expect away fans to travel miles and miles to away grounds on working nights. Saturday or Sunday night, i imagine you guys would have traveled up in 2000's/3000's, and we would certainly pull in an equal amount. such a shame really.

I am a Leigh fan , and enjoyed my visit on Sunday [ apart from the rugby of course



, but I do question the benifit of the thursday night matches to the Championship clubs and the competition itself

Obviously this game is on because it's 2nd vs 3rd, but Sheffield play us(Halifax) at home that Thursday anyway which means Sky seem to have actually gone out of their way to annoy people on this occasion when there was no need

why dont they change the thurs nite games to a sunday afternoon???

Don't get too carried away.

Apart from the Haven derby game where 3,202 attended, our next 2 biggest home games have been televised matches - in the NR Cup against Fev 2,800-ish and against Toulouse 2,500-ish.

Barrow took a few hundred to Widnes on a Friday night which is just as inconvenient. As long as Widnes bring a few hundred there'll be a 3,000 crowd for sure.

All publicity for clubs at our level is good publicity. We HAVE to keep the Championship on Sky - for league profile, sponsorship and kudos. The RFL just have to lobby them to show the matches on a Sunday night instead.

Unfortunately the move may make it tricky for me to attend as get paid on teh Friday
