Ambition isn't in the here and now. It is future tense. And that's where Fev have plenty of ambition for the future. But it's slow sustainable growth. Not everything now that can't be sustained ad infinitim.
I would suggest that Fev and Widnes have similar aspirations. The difference being Widnes are at a stronger position than fev at the mo in terms of crowd numbers and facilities and potential for growth.
Should that deter a championship player signing for a rival, because of their aspiarations/starting point??? I wouldn't have thought so.


I'd rather talk about the match or the finish to this season tho. I wouldn't like to take bets on the eventual winner. And the team that finishes top has absolutely no guarantee of an easy ride this year.
I don't think Fax will now finish top. I have a feeling Barrow will. But any team place 1-6 would fancy their chances in the play-offs. And I was very sceptical about them on their inception. They've proved to be great.

none of the fans ever thought we were going to win the league by 20 points.

the coach ( calland) said we were the best by a country mile but even that was probably over 2 months ago.

but even though he said that how is it our undoing last time i checked we were still joint top. its not our undoing yet, give it a couple more weeks and a couple more defeats and then come back and say it

perhaps if there had BEEN a world challenge when we won the league in 77, we may of won that as well

thats not just our fans am afraid. when at the shay on sunday against whitehaven there fans were chanting easy easy easy as well so its not just us.

the Mp isnt our fans and that was wrong anyway to get us up into super league.

lets face it though we wont get in anyway widnes are already in prime position, toulouse are also in a position of strengh just on location.

our fans might have been chanting easy but whitehaven fans did it on sunday to us, fans of all clubs do it. am sure if you were winning by a strong margain then your fans would start doing it as well.

I know a lot of you are top guy's and fans but there was an aronganace about Fax early doors! And one that no team in this division had ever shown before despite being in similar posistions!

its mostly kids that have this arogance there have been threads on the halifax boards where people who are in the barmy army have been embarrased by kids trying to cause trouble.

now am only young myself i never had that arogance about me on this i didnt join in with the easy chants.

the score was about 36-10 around there they started doing it.

If we were winning 50-0 i wouldnt chant that because, at times were shiiiite enough to let the other team come back

Of course Fax fans were being arrogant: my sig for one was typical of their fans earlier in the season. I remember reading on their site once and thier fans were looking at the upcoming fixtures saying things like "none of those sides will trouble us" - not to mention all the times our board would be full of Fax fans telling us how great players like Beswick are.

Woahh.. little hornets nest stirred up there me thinks...

My post was a little tongue in cheek to be honest and I fully expect Fev to be pushing on at the end of this year and probably next.

Regarding ambition, I'm sure that Fev have plenty and I have heard about the plans for the ground and you have a decent coach there and Harris was a bit of a coup for you also.

Honestly though.... in the short term future (in the next 2 - 3 years ) I think Widnes will continue to be the club with the best set up in this competition. There's a lot of catching up needed by all the others.

Is it just me who finds this a slightly bit tedius? Why do relevant threads always get de-railed and turned into some kind of cyber war.

Always thought there was "something" missing that would have made him a great player (just couldn't put my finger on it).

I think he's been great. Has run in quite strong, scored a few tries and set up a few chances with a few intelligent off-loads.

The only issue regarding "something missing", could be the 2nd row/prop argument. Not sure if he's a 2nd row, but at the same time, maybe not quite heavy enough to be an effective prop?

Very good player at this level though.
