This sort of thing has been happening on a regular basis. I, for one, am getting tired of it. If it carries on I’m gone, and I won’t come back. This board, as has been suggested, will be a nightmare on the lead-up to the licence decisions, and probably even worse afterwards.

The fact that a member of the admin team had to step in to warn a persistent troll, who’d been annoying and insulting Widnes fans over a few days, says it all. Say what you like about the TIW board, but it is well moderated, and the mods regularly use the board.


IMO, one of the current mods should step down, and two new mods should be appointed. Two good-uns have put their name forward, so there should be no problem. Hell – I’d even have a Halifax supporter do it, if that’s what it takes.

I’m sorry Alex, but we don’t come on here to read infantile rubbish. Idiots who come on here need to know that they won’t last long if they cross the line. At the moment they feel they can come on here and say what they like with total impunity. I’m sick of some of the garbage I read on the VT without it getting even worse on here, due to lack of any discernable moderation.

Well that's how you feel. I have no real issue with an extra pair of hands, it could be useful now and then.

I do however find the insinuation that I'm never on here and never do any work rather insulting to be honest. People would be suprised how much there is to do around here. Moderators cannot be here all the time, that does not mean that no moderation takes place.

To be fair, I don't think there is a single person here who doesn't appreciate the job your all doing. You've done us all a favour on a number of occasions looking after this place. I think Pepe is worried about the state of the board not trying to bring down what you've been doing. Some boards have 8 mods. We have two who actually come on here on a regular basis, and the traffic through here is getting quite heavy compared to what it once was years ago. There were two mods when we only ever had three visitors. But seriously Alex, you've done a bang up job over the years.

I can only go by what I see, Alex. Other RL Fans board mods seem to manage OK. They keep a visible profile and moderate their boards. There have even been a couple of stickys, that lost their relevance months ago, that have only just been sorted.

They’re getting a bit desperate, and that idiot dally messenger is winding them up something naughty. I can’t blame them for getting ed off and arguing their case, but they need reminding that Widnes actually could be a real force in SL, and have a lot more to offer than they think. They are just completely ignorant to those facts, so I thought I'd put them in the picture like.

Many of these are the same people so cocksure and arrogant about being in the upper tier and telling us we are in our natural place, lest we forget. I told them at the time the boot would soon be on the other foot and they would react in exactly the same way as we did, and they're not disappointing me. Seems to be Cas and Wakey right now more than Salford, puzzlingly. They all must be pretty worried though. They likely wont get a new stadium outside SL, and they'll have precious little seperating them from the Fax's and Leighs and Barrows they've enjoyed looking down on. Interesting times. I just hope the RFL don't bottle this one and go with the strongest outfit, because that's us IMHO.

Absolutely spot on, Chris. Even so, we know,despite how humble Cas and Wakey fans should be, that there are a few clubs in SL far worse than them. I can’t blame them for being upset.

Location may end up being the deciding factor again next time. That’s why, despite all the false over confidence, they are worried. I think a Yorkshire club is most likely to be dropped regardless of merit.

It is also possible that location may keep us in the Championship too, and Toulouse get the nod. So I don’t feel overly confident myself, even though I really should be.

It just a pity snide little trolls like dally messenger are revelling in turning fans against each other.

Be interesting if saw wakey,salford,cas relegated for widnes,fax,leigh for example?Their attendances would plummet and they would struggle in the championship.Why should any team have the god given right?

Nah it hasn't honest you always seem to pop up when needed. I think some people myself included are a bit worried that we're about to get inundated. We will likely become a marked club in the next year or so with the licenses and such.

It does seem that way, there's a number of ways this could play out. My worry (in terms of the trouble we'll get on here) is if we replaced an existing, established Super League team (Cas, Wakey, Salford etc.)

Well it appears I have the job. It's probably as much a matter of being here longer than anyone else as I think there are a number of people on here who would do a fine job. I've been coming on here for years and we've not had as good a bunch on here as in recent years. I suppose the license decision has given us something of a siege mentality. All I can say is if you need anything done, pm me, I've modded before so I know the score. I also know the difference between banter and abuse so the likes of starbug and littlerich and the likes are still absolutely welcome on these boards, this place will be just fine.
