All clubs know the rules before the start of the season though, saying that it still isnt right in a level playing field sense and never will be.

Oh rules are rules and all that but that's no real comfort for the fans as we well know. This league is absolutely corrupt and we're just making the most of it. 10 teams and two relegation places is far too much, and when two of those are allowed benefits others are not and one of them isn't even allowed to be relegated well things are not exactly great are they? Thats before I mention the far lower salary cap which will even the playing field for the rest of us far far more than it would be. We better bring it next season.

We have relegation without promotion. It's all the downside and none of the upside and people tell us to just enjoy it!

2 down from such a small league is harsh though, i do feel sorry for them but my dad has just mentioned what they did and particulary Rowley to Smithy a few years back.

Oh believe me its the fans I feel sorry for. The club not as much. They're being ran incredibly badly, perhaps worse than we ever were. The boards reaction to everything is to moan and yet they cannot get things right on the pitch or off it.

I haven't forgotten what Rowley did to Smithygod. Still one of the worst things I've seen on a rugby league field.

Allan Rowley is bad one for Leigh, he should have gone years back.

What did he do?

Couple of years back in a match at Hilton Park a fight broke out and 2 leigh players pinned Marks arms back so he couldnt defend himself while Rowley produced a flutty of punches directly on his face. One of the most cowardly acts i have ever seen and i was inches away from hopping over the wall and giving him a helping hand. I think Rowley got a 3 game ban.

You know, i think i recall it now. Didn't realize it was Smithy though.

It still leaves a might bitter taste does that, anyway it's gone now.

On a brighter note, good riddance Leigh!

I vowed not to go back to leigh after that day. We away fans were all in horrible rain whilst the home fans were under cover, which always irks me, and we witnessed one of the dirtiest games ever.

But like you say the bitter taste has since gone.

Thanks for 1 or 2 of the comments regarding our relegation except from the tool who says good riddence ,always enjoyed our matches loved coming to widnes always great crowds and atmosphere will really miss the derby games next year.

Our derby games have been great over the past seasons, and they will be missed for a season at least anyway.

Highly doubt it mate. Nepotism is very strong at our club and I expect it to stay the same way next year.

I went today and stood with their fans in the terrace section, a credit today. They started off similar to us V haven the other week, conceded an early one, riled them and produced one of the finest displays I have seen in a while. Really bad for them to dominate a game in such fashion yet suffer due to a result out of their hands. Dave Alstead was class today. And so was Durbo when he came on at hoooker. Shame, and I will miss the local games, liked the look of the youngish lad Ridyard I think his name is. Some emotional scenes at the end too.

We were there too in the North Stand, sad day for Leigh joint 7th and going down

Don't know how we'll cope next season. What, with the two games against you, and the Widnes support at our last two games, we only seem able to perform, when there's a large contingent of Widnes fans there!

Sad to see them go down in this way. As an outsider looking in, there does seem to have been some strange decisions and goings on their this season. Hopefully they'll bounce right back. But it does all but end any chance of qualifying to make a bid for 2012.

In many ways we've all been far too preoccupied with that and not concentrated enough on putting it out on the field and running a club normally. Things are getting too desperate for all of us.

Yeah right we were..............I also thought i`d never watch a game of RL again because of the blatant thuggery of some of the Widnes players............Even now I cant watch your games on TV without therapy..........
