Look we all have ambition. Rovers do not want to 'tread water' in the championship though this is the best comp by far this year for sheer excitement. It would be a handicappers dream of 6 horses in a line going into the final furlong. But SL is still the holy grail for most championship clubs.

Whether we sign Grayshon, or anyone else from Widnes remains to be confirmed by the club. But to suggest a player has no ambition if they sign for a rival of Widnes is a little churlish I feel, but only my opinion. (Well 'rovers' as well despite his eloquence)!

I think thats abit unfair to say, after all Widnes is not the best in the league
so what they have a tick for superleague but so will another club next year if widnes don't win the NRC again and who ever wins the grand final.

The proposals for a new stadium at Fev is one of a self funded arrangement based on thus:-
Fev own a great deal of land. Developed into retail units on long leases (pledges are there - and eager, from big chains Asda, morrisson's etc) wanting to come on board as the area doesn't have such opportunities. Sports complexes are also to be built and leased out - again much with interest and eagerness from prospective partners. All would provide a regular income to rovers.
The leasing of the buildings and land would then release the capital for a 6-12k all/part seater modular stadium fit for purpose. All this without any need for local authority funding - such as Cas or Wakey. Fev are not reliant on one investor to bail them out or keep them afloat.

Nowt will happen fast. It never does. And yes, you are right - at the mo, Widnes are probably better placed than Fev are for SL. But more ambitious - no. No more, no less.

AMBITION is a tough one! Look at Footy everyone talks about going to Citeh for their 'ambition' question what 'AMBITION' do they have any different to other clubs? Especially top4? To be the best club side in the World and a global brand???

Ambition ahs to be paired with realsim IMO and that's where Widnes would come out on top atm!

Unsure over thacks future at widnes but if he doesn't sign for SL club he should stay put as should a few others. JD can leave for all i care.

OK last bit on this because i think we've done it to death - but there's the crux - the "at the moment" comment!
Ambition isn't in the here and now. It is future tense. And that's where Fev have plenty of ambition for the future. But it's slow sustainable growth. Not everything now that can't be sustained ad infinitim.
I would suggest that Fev and Widnes have similar aspirations. The difference being Widnes are at a stronger position than fev at the mo in terms of crowd numbers and facilities and potential for growth.
Should that deter a championship player signing for a rival, because of their aspiarations/starting point??? I wouldn't have thought so.


I'd rather talk about the match or the finish to this season tho. I wouldn't like to take bets on the eventual winner. And the team that finishes top has absolutely no guarantee of an easy ride this year.
I don't think Fax will now finish top. I have a feeling Barrow will. But any team place 1-6 would fancy their chances in the play-offs. And I was very sceptical about them on their inception. They've proved to be great.

Rovers have always had the land, the problem was a lot was green belt. We now though have a very ambitious board who think they have turned a corner negotiating with the council regards green belt. The Rovers project is not some fantasy so no i would argue you dont come on top, as you certainly didnt Sunday
