I agree Alan and bad coaching as he swaps players who where playing well like Grady and Hecky.Plays Scully when not match fit and he should play more reserve games.Thackeray never a fullback and if not Flynn i would play classy Jack Owens out of the academy.Gerrard is not a standoff and Netherton is crap.Lunt is much better and should be ahead of Netherton.Sack Betts and bring in an experienced coach like Noble.

On the showing last night , not many of the players will be at Widnes next season , and maybe they know it.

The team last night will bear no resemblance to the starting line up in SL.

The SL criteria was met by off-field and by virtue of beating Donny on the pitch.
Those are the rules , so Widnes are deemed worthy.
You may not agree , but that is a different matter.

One of the more truer posts ive seen on here in quite a while.

Dave Allen hit almost 40 tackles. Finnegan and Pickersgill both put in huge defence efforts too, if they're the only ones doing anything then they'll concede penalities due to fatigue.

No coincidence that we were 18-6 up then Finnegan and Pickersgill clash heads, go off and we end up 22-18 down, we can't adjust. Happened in the league game when Paddy went off, Thacks went FB and Craven on the wing and our shape goes to pot.

Several Leigh tries came from lazy defence and bunching, which Leigh took full advantage of, fair play to them they were excellent again.

One major concern was the 3 or 4 tries Leigh scored from close range, not one player got underneath the ball to try and stop it being grounded? I've seen under 10's do this. Only player to do this last night was Dean Gaskell in the first half, otherwise Leigh would have hit 60.

We've put this squad together to compete in the top half of the Championship, hopefully top 4. So with extra training, few better players around them they should be looking to push for a SL chance.

after watching that game you plastic scousers have alot of work to do,we won the treble when we was in the championship and when we came up we found it very difficult so you lot are gonna find it alot worse than us i can tell you

Dont worry about Widnes mate, we'll be just fine, may find it difficult in the 1st season but if we can spend up to the cap then we will have nothing to worry about. Certainly dont see a threat from small clubs like Salford

As for our defence in our 20,countless times we loaded the right side,probably to stop Nanyn for we all know what he can do close to the line but it left the other wing exposed with Deano and Tyrer having 3 or 4 running at them.

I have to say to me a lot of the team look like they have tried to bulk up and it is hindering their fitness and stamina. Some of the players even look a liittle over weight. You showed what you can do to a team in the first 20 then you fell away. If you look at our team there are only two players who look remotely over compared to the rest. I think thats what is getting us results. A fitter team keeps its marbles through a tough game and will always prevail.
