This is what I find amazing, Haggerty can do something like that and yet still able to play until his hearing. That was awful, real cheap shot! He even seemed to try to get Barlow in the face.

I seem to remember Barrow and Catic in NRC, he played week after incident but then once suspension made after hearing he missed cup final but they weren't allowed to bring hearing forward so would work the other way around.

It does look bad - I wouldn't be surprised if its more than 3 games. Don't the disciplinary commitee usually try to work out wether its accidental, reeckless or deliberate. An accidental contact and he might have been looking at no punishment or maybe a 1 match ban, but if they consider it to be reckless or even worse deliberate and he could be out for some time. Not wanting to bag one of our own players but had someone like Terry Newton had done something like that on a live Sky game there would be loads of people saying he should be banned for months or more.

Just glad he will be available for Thursday - whatever ban he picks up after then doesn't matter as much. The games after Halifax are: Dewsbury (a), Whitehaven (h), Toulouse (h), Lezignan (h) and then Batley (a).

How did the ref not send Haggerty off? The most blatent sending off i have seen for a while. Just goes to show that refs take the easy option with "on report" option.

You can’t condone what Haggy did. I’m sure, now that the red mist has gone, he regrets this. He’s not really a dirty player. He doesn’t have a history of this.

In the previous tackle, Barlow elbows Haggy in the face, I’ve no doubt that there’ll have been further clashes earlier on, leading up to this too, and a running feud had been ongoing.

Either way, Haggy could, and probably should, get a 3 – 5 match ban.
