Id guess staying where he is and using us to get a better deal, its quite poor behviour to ditch your Dad's team for a bit of cash

With Burgess as ref as well…..tbh,it would be infesting to see if Beaumont did mouth off at the game as I could see Myler giving him it back and more or get Lam to sign his contract with us at H/T on the pitch.

The Hull deal not happening, there was talk of Catalans and Saints making a play don’t know what’s happening with that but if he has agreed a new Leigh deal you’d think they’d love to announce it right before the Hull game just to show who’s boss. I’d expect an announcement this week but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on the pitch before the game or something like that.

There’s now way you’d do what’s potentially the biggest deal of the clubs history and what reportedly could be the biggest contract in the competition and leave it all up in the air having to move someone else on. The club obviously felt they had the cap space and the money available to do the deal, they offered it and it just wasn’t for player, whatever the situation is with Trueman is it’s not the reason why Lam didn’t happen.

Think Trueman is gone if Wakey can afford him. Also think Hull would have had a good idea a couple of weeks ago that Lam wasn't going to accept, I'll be disappointed if we haven't got someone else lined up, good chamce it's Sullivan IMO, too much noise around him.

Funny that nothings been said what so ever. Even speaking to Leigh fans they don't have a clue, they're just hoping.

We will probably see later this week. I've seen a couple of post from FC fans claiming it's done deal!

Like Asiata, if he did come, it would only be for the money and as we've seen before that can end up being a bad deal for the club unless they can really sell the vision to him once he's arrived. I still don't think it will happen. Regardless of the money, it's a big risk for him if he has any NRL ambitions as there's no guarantee the club will turn things around to any great extent.

Unfortunately money is the only way we can attract those type of players at moment.

If he signs a long term deal in the kind of money rumoured, he will stay as no NRL club would match that type of cash for a player who clubs probably see as a back up.

Not sure why but NRL clubs don't seem to fancy Lam, maybe it is his salary.

Leigh to announce a new deal for Lam before the game on Sunday, makes sense with lam saying things will be sorted this week…

The club would have realised that it was being used by Lam to leverage a better deal at Leigh and have moved on and identified other targets.

Hope I’m wrong, but just a feeling if we had signed Lam we would have known by now, probably be announced he’s staying with Leigh pre kick off v us.

If so would imagine we had a plan b put in place.

The 2 stand out halves out of contract are Hawkins and Clifford, whether any of those are realistic, especially Clifford who's expecting another child so can't see him coming back. But with the NRL merry go round someone left field may become available at seasons end.

Like to see Clifford back but as you say it's very unlikely. A better player than Lam in my opinion but you'll lose a quota place.

Someone may become available but we don't want to get into the perennial half back search and leave it to late.

That's the risk, we could end up with a Clifford or a Brown.
