Daryl Powell will leave Cas at the end of this season, the Cas fans are understandably deflated, Warrington are rumoured to be his next job.

Is this the best way to change your coach, with a lingering knowledge that’s it’s all over, or a clean break, maybe not the way we dealt with Radders, but certainly look for a new coach with immediate effect.

Be interesting to see where he goes, probably Warrington.

He is a bit overrated for me.

What he did at Cas was impressive but I get the impression that he has taken them as far as he could and that he looks for every possible excuse other than his own or team's failings when they do not win, which is why I think he is limited as a coach as he won't accept blame and therefore does not seek to improve himself as a coach.

That’s the point though, he’s still there another season.

Excellent coach. Stayed too long tbf though. What he's done on Cas budget is impressive. With Wires he'll be rubbing his hands

Can’t argue with that.

I think he is very over rated too and his 'Everyone against Us' attitude gives players a ready made excuse to feel sorry for themselves and throw a pity party when a decision goes against them.

It will be interesting how he gets on this season without Danny Orr also.

Gallant losses in finals and semi finals are hard to take

You never quite know with coaches whether what they say to media is what they say to the players. I've always wondered if it's a bit of deflection tactic to take the focus away from his players when he knows they haven't played well. What he says in private might be very different. I suppose unless you are in the dressing room you won't find out.

I think the way Cas react to any 50/50 call tells you a lot about their mentality, when Holmes got sent off against Leeds it was on the back of a few iffy calls and they had totally lost their heads.
