I didn't realise at the game Kelly went off for an injury but we did seem to attack better when Connor went to standoff. Maybe its as players got tired and the game opened up. Alby has burnt Wigan before so they really seemed to be spotting him in defence.

I was just glad at the time we tried something different, often when things are not working we never seem to make adjustments.

He's yet to prove himself at 6 for me, sulks too much when things don't go his way which you can't have in that position. It's a real shame he can't just accept he has the ability to be a world class centre and be happy with that, although it doesn't help that he gets moved around the squad so much as needed.

Yeh definitely agree with this, can see the value and people’s reasonings for playing him fb and at 6. But personally really like him in the centres, and like you, would just like to see him cement that spot, which will be a big challenge with the quality backs next year. I like shaul, I’ve not given up on him yet, just needs better attacking structures that play to his strengths

Check my previous quotes re Kelly. I was adamant we shouldn't re sign him. The concussion really messed him up.

Kelly is a hb that does not shirk from the physicality of rugby. He's great in defence and will take the hits running the ball in.

Injuries are part and parcel of the game unfortunately.

He is also our far most dangerous player and improves our team immeasurably. If you watched his game you'd know this.

I do find your comments ludicrous and ill timed to say the least on this occasion.

My previous comments have always been about his well being. It was the concussions that made my mind up. I hated seeing Sid Domic when his legs went from a simple tackle. Kelly had been a great signing.
To re sign was a mistake. I hope he retires and enjoys the time away from a brutal sport. Ill-timed ? he's a massive amount of Cap in the stands for the rest of the season ? I am commenting on that as it's today's news. Anybody who reads my comments know that I regard concussion highly and I feel sorry for Dean Hadley and Jamie Shaul, both of whom I knew as kids, and I now see them suffering bad concussions that , without question, affect your well being as a human.

Time for Connor to step up and take the opportunity if he really wants to be in the halves and show is he has what it takes. He is a genuinely talented player but just don't see him as a half. Think he'd be a better 13 than a half to be honest but as a centre he could be one of the best.

As for Kelly no doubt its a blow to lose him but in all honesty I don't think he's looked fully fit for a while.

He'll back for the playoffs according to what I have read, if we can release him from the end of the playoffs I would, brilliant when he plays, but as ypu say. too much cap sat in the stands.

Rib inury aside, when will his hamstring go next?
