Tricky one. Bust a gut after a draining semi today or rest a few like Mini, Gaz for the regular season run in. I see Wigan have strengthened again today.

| Wigan have strengthened by signing Bevan French from the Eels. On the other hand It's confirmed Bullock is out for the season.

You thinking loan to Rovers or permanent transfers out?
I know today took a lot out the lads in term of energy but hope we're up for it Thursday.

I honestly can’t get behind the excuses of lacking in energy after 4/5 days rest, super fit professional athletes, unless injured, should be raring to go

I was referring in terms of knocks and mental fatigue.
I know what you're saying in terms of energy, full time athletes but this is a physical game we play here, we've had a short turn around and Wigan a week off.
Not making excuses or writing off the team already as some have. Losing I can accept when you know you're team has put in a real shift and not just thrown in the towel and played dumb rugby.
Again we await to see which Hull team will turn up.

| I can’t see Green, Hadley or Litten playing again for Hull.
I’m assuming it’s because all 3 are leaving and that’s the reason I’d drop Westerman. He hasn’t had a good game for about 2 months since he signed for Wakefield and doesn’t look interested.
Shaul
Faraimo
Los
Connor
Ratu
Kelly
Sneyd
Taylor
Houghton
Bowden
Manu
Griffin
Ellis
Paea
Fash
Mini
Savelio/Lane
I don’t buy into the fatigue claim. Like what’s been said we’re a team of professional athletes with the best recovery systems available.

| I don't understand how people "don't buy" the fatigue claim? It's shown time and time again to be a factor following big games. How much more proof do you need?
That semi will have been physically draining. Players will not have fully recovered from their efforts. It will also have been mentally draining as emotions were high and it was a close game.
All of those factors will come into play on Thursday. Those 1%ers matter against to teams.
Unless Wigan have a shocker, I just can't see us having enough in the tank to win. I hope I'm wrong.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that you are a bit unclear on this.
As they are professional athletes, they have much less body fat to protect their muscles and impact fatigue and bruising takes a little longer to heal. Not sure if it’s still the case but the day after a game many teams would do a session of basic movement in a swimming pool to avoid direct impact in training, help the lactic acid work through and to have some element of resistance.
Now, if you really think that this is not a factor for Hull, having played a high intensity game in wet conditions, to turn around in just five days, when their opposition will have had 14 days without a game, then I suggest you think again.

| Thats right MMJ They usually go straight to total Fitness the day after a game and do a swimming and water walking session before spending some time in hydro therapy

Benefit of the doubt not required thank you, although I have thought about it and I stick by my original post, for 2 reasons, 1 been having watched the game back on tv, it really wasn’t that intense, 2 we lost, majority of poor performances after been in a so called energy, mental zapping game, Is from been on the booze a couple of days celebrating. If your theory was correct, surely no team would be able to string a few quality performances together in a row

| Even tougher for us this time round.
Wigan won in a canter against Wakey a week last Thursday.
We won a very tight contest at Leeds three days later, no doubt had an intense weeks build up to the semi, anybody who thought it wasn't intense should sit closer to the touchline !!
Be tremendous if we can beat the pies, 6 points clear with 5 left but not disastrous if we don't. Then we can lick wounds and go all out in the last 5. I thought Savelio had broken his foot ? IF we let two go out to KR which looks like common sense, will that free up enough cap space to bring someone in for the back end ??

| This is a pivotal game if we have any chance of achieving 2nd and with it the home game against Wire in the playoffs.
I don't think a loss would hurt our chances of 3rd too much as we have a run of 3 games against weaker teams after this.
With Wire having the distraction of the CC final coming up I'm still optimistic we can steal 2nd and maybe, just maybe get that elusive Grand Final place.

Really??? That happened after the 2016 CC final. Not sure of any other occasion when that was the case.
If you don't thing playing in a semi and having to bring the ball out from near your own line for the majority of the game against a high line speed defence isn't intense, then I would ask you to describe what is?
My theory is RL practice. Usually its a relatively even playing field as both teams usually have a similar turn around (6/7 days).
The point you have not recognised is that Wigan have just about three times the turn around time.

Teams often complain the week off is actually a inconvenience. Anyway it’s only my opinion, but I’ll be disappointed if we can’t put an effort in Thursday night.

It really wasn't that intense? That's rubbish. It was intense enough to require recovery time. It was a hell of a lot more intense than anything Wigan will need to recover from.
Check out the stats for CCF and CCSF games. Teams tend to struggle to back up (unless it was a blow out). You can have all the opinions on the world, but they don't appear to be backed up.
The fact that Wigan have had a good rest and we're having to back up in a shorter than normal turnaround will be a big factor.

| It will be interesting to see how the game pans out.
If it's nip and tuck until the last 15 minutes then we run out of steam then yes, that can be blamed on fatigue and the short turnaround.
I just hope the players show up and make a game out of it and don't go into the game thinking they're tired resulting in another hiding.

Why is it rubbish , we didn’t play that well, Warrington’s intensity was much higher than ours , we did well to stay in the game. Our intensity in defence was poor. I guess we’ll see Thursday night, but I reckon we will and should go ok

I have no doubt they will put the effort in, but when Wigan appear to be much fresher in the last quarter, I anticipate we will make a lot of errors and be out of position due to being knackered.
