| Like lot of people I was unhappy with how last season ended but wanted to give Radford till Easter to stop the rot. Well Easter has come and gone, and our patched-up, injury stricken team has battled its way to 3rd. So has Radford earned the right to lead our team into the future?
I think so. We aren't the best team in the league but we are up there and we are fighting. Some weeks we have no props. Some weeks we have no wingers. Yet we continue to win points and climb the table and defy expectations. It looks like we are going to be challenging at the end of the year although it doesn't yet look like we can win anything.
I'd be happy to see Lee get another 3 years.

| He definitely deserves a contract extension on what he has achieved. I'd give him two years rather then three.
If and when it happens look out for a meltdown on TRL forum when Knockers bump find out!

| I stated on another thread that after the Wire game, I was in the Radford out club but the excellent game-plan against Les Cats and the team executing it and the Dobbins mullering, brought me back down to Earth. Wether we like it or not, the injuries have played a massive part in last season’s finish. We seem to cope better but having 3 fit halfbacks is exceptional. Players coming back in the forwards is also an aid. Radders is on a 6 month rolling contract apparently, give him another, I say.

| I have said before that I would like someone new, I think coaches have a shelf life, and I don't think Radford can take us any further than he already has. That said, I would say let's not make any knee jerk decisions either way yet. It's easy to get carried away by a good or bad run of fixtures. We seem to be heading in the right direction, let's see how things pan out before a decision is made. If we continue to make positive steps then by all means offer him another contract. But what if we give him three years and suddenly our form goes off a cliff again? Let's wait and see what the next couple of months bring.
You shouldn't sack a coach because of a few bad games, but you also shouldn't hand out new contracts based on a few good ones.

A balanced post and sums up my thoughts at the moment too.

Think your right with regards the shelf life of a coach I reckon 5 seasons ( not a lot actually make it that long ) if your fairly successful then things seem to go a bit stale

| According to HDM, Radford is on a 6 month rolling contract.....
He admitted this during an interview with HDM, then the article was later deleted..
For mine, we need a change.. unless Pearson changes his policy of 'rolling contract's' no reputable/experienced coach would accept those terms..-IMO

| I would love Lee to stay on. When I look back at my 30 odd years supporting the club, there's not been a coaching tenure that comes close IMO. He has built a very good squad with 3 pivots all of whom we would only have dreamed about in years gone by. Super League has been littered with assistant / unemployed Aussie coaches put in head coach roles who've failed to deliver. He's not perfect but I would stick with him.
Given the ambiguity of the coaching position east of the river I'd be gutted if he went there.

| Isn’t it incredible the wide range of views on this Board ?
If the Rovers job came up and LR and AL went there then I’d be unfazed at best
I’d know that Rovers would always be behind us in the League

He doesn't go, spends all his time moaning, wants Pearson to spend money on a top coach and players, but contributes nothing to help the club.

| Dave - you make stuff up
Remember when you said Storm were successful because they had the whole of Melbourne area to choose from
Then I had to let you know Storm didn’t have a single player from Melbourne or Victoria
So any point you make has to be taken with a pinch of salt as you can’t be trusted on your RL knowledge
You are quite boring and you’re banter is of a low quality

That was to wind you up you fool, I dobt care about Melbourne or the NRL,
Good to see you ignore the point though, how can you have such a strong opinion about Radford and the team, when you don't help the club out in any way, we need supporters to support and help the club advance, you offer nothing to the club, except moan.
Their are plenty on here who are very negative towards the club, but at least they contribute and help the club out.
Am I right or wrong?

From what I remember Radford was initially given a three year deal (2014-2016 seasons) and this was extended.
I don't thing there would be a policy of a rolling contract for any new coach should Pearson decide on a change.

I think the clue is in the "3 years", and as everywhere reported it as until the end of the 2019 season, there's probably 6 months left to go.

To be fair, we are at the front of the chasing pack with a squad which at the start of the season most thought was inadequate (specifically in the forwards).
For me we have shown so great examples of tactically awareness in games this year. Ok, we were blown away by the two front runners. But that’s not a unique scenario.
If Radford were shown the door at this stage he would feel rightly hard done to.
