| Got to be honest my impression of Mr Pryce was that he was a somewhat lazy showboater who often goes missing...but I have changed my mind after this afternoons display!
Thought he ran his socks off and used his large (for a halfback) size well
Going to be a good asset if he stays fit

| I don't think you achieve what he has achieved in the domestic game by being a "lazy showboater who often goes missing".

Played in some great Bradford and Saints sides though, and he's always turned it on in the big games, it was the 'regular' league games that I was worried about, but on today's display I have no complaints.

His stats last year with Catalans were excellent.

He was indeed. Near the top of try assists in SL until Frayssinous decided to longer select him.

| Other than one off field incident, pryce has been a top class professional at 2 of the most successful clubs in SL history. Only issue is making sure he stays fut but he has a good record on that

| After Shauls tries in the second half, When the team came back to re set for the kick off, Pryce was the first to clap back to the fans. Now, he will have taken a fair amount of flack for those same fans over the last 10+ years. For me he is not here to see out his career, he is here to prove some thing.

| I thought that Pryce and Sneyd would`nt fetch anything to the table. How wrong am I. On yesterdays performances from them both we have a fantastic season ahead. I stand corrected.

| at one point after scoring, pryce was walking back towards the fans, he kept looking back at the faithful, he looked like he'd never seen that sort of support before.
tbf the fans were absolutely amazing from min one yesterday. my voice is still feeling the effects of it.
I think if we can keep that party atmosphere going for the boys all season, it will spur them on that little more.

| I have read a few season previews all of which have written us off. Previews are based on people's opinions and let's be honest providing you have an honest held belief it's hard to argue someone one way or the other. But all these "experts" of the game seem to have written us off based on the fact that we have yet to fill the half back issue since Cooke left. They have not based their conclusions on anything other than Hull never have a half back combination.
When you look at our first choice spine (I'm basing this on a almost fully fit squad that played yesterday) Shaul, Pryce, Sneyd, Houghton and Westerman how is that only worthy of 9th position at best (based on season previews).
Add in Ellis, Mini and a very potent back line and you have a squad I'd say is above average. Yes under that first 20 names you could argue there isn't the quality (could I said) but I'm struggling to see what it is that I and many other Hull fans are not getting that the experts are.
Pryce according to Rugby League World will be a big loss to the Dragons but hardly worthy in a black & white shirt. Sneyd was a top performing half back last season in an over achieving squad, who faltered as his support faltered. He was in a Cas team written off 12 months ago who performed miracles but have lost their spine, yet I don't see any previews that predict them below us. Clarke, Sneyd and Huby big big losses for them.
But it's a funny old game and so long as we dip below the radar and sky love everything West of the Pennines (with the exception of Leeds, who's squad couldn't contain more oldies if they'd tried) I guess we will be happy.
So back to Pryce and anyone who knows the game will appreciate that he has performed at the top of his game season after season. To my knowledge his injury record is good. He is the perfect "veteran" to be bringing on our young halves and not forgetting Sneyd. He knows Radford and will respect Radford and I'm certain that he will not be here for a jolly.

| I think what limited stuff we've seen so far just reinforces how far off the pace we've been halfback wise for several years. These two aren't worldbeaters but effectively replace Horne and Miller/Azza, undeniably a trade-up. What I like about Sneyd is that he brings a variety of options.

Having seen both Pryce and Sneyd on numerous occasions I found that the input they both put in did`nt convince me that they were the players we needed. On sunday on this occasion they proved me wrong.

It's early days yet obviously so no wild claims. However I've consistently put my view on here that a good pair of halves who know the game would improve Hull FC enormously. Some have argued against me saying that too much importance is put on the ability of these players. It's not the be all and end all but at the end of the day having better talented players in the key positions is bound to improve things regardless of who is coach.

| From what I have seen Pryce and Sneyd have improved us immensely already.
Sneyd will hopefully be around for years to come but we will only get a couple of years out of Pryce so we need to be planning for his replacement already, be it HTW, Rankin or someone else.

| Lets see if you can manage back to back decent performances. No doubt codheads have underachieved last few years. Most people had both Ull teams to finish outside top 8. I wasn't one of them.

Those 2 statements are not mutually exclusive. I don't think anyone argued against the idea that better players will improve things. It would be pretty daft to, as it's perfectly obvious. What some (including myself) put forward is that we had/have several fundamental issues that will/would not be fixed by recruitment alone, and that the problems in the halves should not have meant the size of the gulf in performances we've seen, we should have been better in some aspects of play regardless of personnel.

Some people suggested that too much emphasis was put on our previous lack of quality in the halves. I'm hoping that the current incumbents continue to prove that theory wrong.

They aren't currently doing so to continue it. They can't, it's not possible and will always be open to debate.
