The RFL are an absolute joke. They need to take a look at the RFU who stand for no messing around at all in their issue of cards.

Picture the reverse scenario. Bowen kicks ahead and Grix takes him out with the most obvious stiffarm (a la Bowen). Straight red and 3 matches. The RFL are a complete joke (except they don't make us laugh).

Don't know why people are surprised the RFL are joke. Ban the shoulder charge but leaping through the air and wrapping your forearm around someones chops is alright.

This has set the standard once again, no consistency and a bias to the big clubs! I stopped going to away games last year due to the poor officiating at games and total lack of trust in the disciplinary. I was in two minds this season as to maybe start going again, think this has just made my mind up!

It obvious why he wasn't banned, but it will make no difference Wigan could very easily be on the end of two hammering's this week.

Bowen could have used the time to get himself in proper shape.

A club like Wigan should not be giving over the hill Aussie's contracts when they have such strong young players coming through.

As everyone says, no surprise that he wasn't given a ban. But the Giants won so no-one loses I suppose. Would have been interesting if Wigan had gone on to win mind you - would the RFL have the b*lls?

It's not the fact who won or lossed the game.

It's the double standards.

We all know someone will get banned for a lot less from another club.

This tackle has caused quite a lot of discussion around the game. On the Wigan boards the consensus of opinion (pretty much unanimous) was that he deserved to get sent off, or at least a yellow, and that he deserved a ban.

However the question about whether Red Hall has the guts to ban him is not so clear. In 2011 just before we played St George Jeff Lima, who was our best prop at the time, copped a ban and missed the game.

This situation is different because we are playing away in Australia and there is potential for a hammering by the Roosters. Maybe Red Hall took the view that it wouldn't affect Huddersfiled or any other Super League club by banning him.

FWIW I think he should have been banned for the next Super League game.
