huddersfield were a force back in the day 1910 - 20 led by the legendary albert rosenfield - an original member of the hall of fame they were known as the team of all talents, their football team also had a similar period of dominance.

they also did pretty well post world war 2

you could alter the amount of points for winning any of the comps and come up with a different result
it would be more revealing if they made the points the same for all comps

Not sure I agree with the points systems used either.

just stating facts.... to be 7th in our HISTORY when everyone bags on how "great" we were in the 80's just shows we had a good period for about 3-4 years 30 years ago.....
people really need to get real, the league table identifies where weve been as a club for 100odd years.. and that's mis-table mediocrity...

Also a purple patch from the mid-fifties until the end of that decade which I believe bettered the 80's period- probably because I was in the UK at the time.

Would accept those rankings as a pretty fair reflection of our historical performance.

It's only taking into account how clubs have done since 1986. So anything before that is not included, pretty pointless really. Both Hull and Rovers would be a lot higher if it was an entire history or even went back 10 years further!

Tbf, there were 28 or 30 teams in a single division for many years, so 7th would certainly be better than mid-table.



Are we looking at different things? it went back to 1896 (maybe you misread, thinking about it - swapping the middle 2 digits?). Broughton Rangers and the Bradford that became Park Avenue are in there.

What does it matter really, you could do a post war one, one since SL started etc and they'd all be different but none of it matters to the teams of today.
If it was done in Football I'd assume Blackpool and Burnley would be above Man City and probably Chelsea but can't see many would get much satisfaction gloating about it.
History is all well and good but most of us only really care about the now.
