| There have been some outstanding overseas players pull on Hull shirts since i started following the sport. Although a lesser name, i would argue that Craig Coleman had a bigger impact at Hull than Peter Sterling.

Patrick Entat and Greg Mackey had a bigger influence than Coleman.

| Since the early 80's any top 10 overseas list would have to include Greg Mackey for me. The bottom line is major trophey success in sport and Mackey was an integral part of us achieving this in 1991 and I think it is fair to say without a team of internationals around him at the time!

Mackey was a good player but he benefited from having a half back partner who complimented him perfectly in Patrick Entat and also an all international front row to play behind in Harrison, Jackson and Dannatt. Not sure if Mcnamara and Busby were internationals by this time but it wasnt a bad pack to work off!

I would like to see you talk up our backline!
We had grafters who did their job in players like Sharp, Walker and Marlow in the pack with a steady away backline including Turner, Webb, Nolan and McGarry.
Its a shame the team were dismantled after this victory because I think we were a couple of players away from becoming a top team with the youngsters like Macca and Busby coming through.

Yes, it was arguably the best pack in the league at the time. I liked Ian Marlow. Snapped up from the obscurity of local rugby union aswell. Just shows that there is talent all over if you look hard enough.

I agree. Criminal how only 2 of them got international recognition that year. (3 if you include Eastwood in the backs).
We were solid but not spectacular!

Why, Richard Swain was a better buy for Hull than Manu was.

Totally agree. Manu doesn't come close to the top 15 IMO. As good as he was, too many overseas legends. I thought Scott Logan and Greenhill was great players but didn't play enough to warrant a place in that list!

| Really i'm lost for words, don't get me wrong Swain was superb, but for someone to say Manu was not even in the top 15????
For me he's been not only our best overseas signing, but probably in a carlsberg sense the best 2nd row in the country, had he been in a top 4 team?
Here's hoping Daniel Holdsworths trumps the lot!

| I'd have both Manu and Swain in my ten but that's not hard because I've only been following Hull about 12 years. But Swain has got to be one of the best overseas players to grace SL imo.

Everyone is entitled to have there own opinions. As much as I liked Manu I don't think he is as good as other players mentioned. He would challenge but never get on the top 10. If you have only followed Hull FC since Manu came than obviously he has to be in the top 10. The more experienced FC fans will probably get the top 10 spot on or close. I can only comment from the Hull sharks era until now.
