Hull FC say they have battled off significant intrest from other Super League clubs in a race to sign Wakefield forward, Paul Johnson.

The 24 year-old, will become the Black and Whites eighth recruit for 2013 and will link up with his new squad in November.

we'll have to see, taking any rival teams player of the year has to be worth something, I wasn't impressed when we signed Lynch and I was wrong, I hope Johnson goes about chaning my mind in similar fashion.

Won players player and coaches player last year had a quiet year by his standards but he is young hungry and English, I wasn't overly impressed with Aspinwall, Martin and McGoldrick but Gentle has got the best out of them so lets give him a chance.

Our golden era of the late 70`s early 80`s was built around West Yorkshire players. Certainly a good omen.

Cant say I've seen a lot of him but If Gentle rates him thats good enough for me. We NEED another halfback though, but lets not go there again!
