| As we have played in a shared stadium for almost 10 years now, most of us are fully aware with some of the negative issues that sometimes come with that ie potential issues with fixture clashes and the constant but up until now unsubstantiated threat that the Premier league want to ban teams of other sports from using the stadiums.
With this in mind, I thought I would bring your attention to how they do things in the USA.
Starting tonight, the Staples in Los Angeles will host 6 different play off games in two different sports, for 3 different home teams in the next 4 days.
The NHL’s Kings are at home tonight, with the NBA’s Clippers at home tomorrow night. On Saturday there will be a NBA double header with the Lakers and Clippers playing back to back home games, against different teams on the same day and then on Sunday the Lakers play at home before the Kings take to the ice later that day. You can also throw into the mix the fact the biggest cycle race in the US is due to finish 30 mins before face off right outside the Staples with a 100,000 crowd expected.
The arena’s events manager admits it will be a tough few days, but doesn’t expect there to be any issues.
It puts some of the petty squabbles that go on in this Country over shared facilities to shame imo.

| I think the difference here is that the playing surface is the main issue in the squabbles. The situations you've described have absolutely no issues when it comes to surface other than taking them up and putting them down, which doesn't take long.
Completely irrelevant IMO.

There can be big issues with the ice surface especially when they have such little time to prepare for a game. It is not as simple as removing/relaying basketball courts, there is also the removal or repositioning of around 2500 seats and moving nets and plexi glass etc. The logistics involved is pretty impressive, regardless of peoples interest in US sports.
I am pretty sure there will be threads popping once again should we make it to the play offs and have a home game the same week as Hull Fair again or should we find ourselves in a similar position to Wigan last week where they almost had to give up home advantage in the cup because of football. I posted the example above to highlight what can be achieved at multi use stadia, if clubs are pulling in the same direction.
I can wait for the Allams to prove how accommodating they are in the future should there be any potential issues

Maybe you could post an English version of that so I can understand what you're talking about.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying its easy or not impressive. It's just a completely separate issue.
If the field gets knackered, you can't just dig it up and relay it in a day. That's why the issues are different. In reality, you'd need a pitch like at Widnes for any issues to be forgotten about.

You could look at it like that or alternatively see it as an example of how one multi use sports venue with a similar capacity to the KC has not only the ability, but the commitment to accomodate all of it's tennants without a fuss.

No, I see it as a totally invalid comparison.

| Hard to compare as Ice Hockey and NBA playing areas are smaller (at least they seem to be to me, and cannot be bothered to check). If you could bring up a NFL and MLS team using the same pitch/stadium then it would be a lot easier to make a comparison.

| At least 23 of the 32 NFL pitches are fully artificial, most of the others have an artificial twist imbedded in them aside from Heinz Field which is oft critisiced probably due to the stadiums Northerly geographic location and the problems that brings during the winter
