Good to hear our coach actually acknowledge that we have some deficiencies unlike the whinger over the river who complains about the referee every time they lose. Maybe it just seems worse because they lose a lot. Anyway, being a Hull FC related thread, well done to mr gentle for having the balls to say we're maybe sometimes to blame when things don't go right

He is quite refreshing, don't recall him blaming the ref at the Salford game either.

Sandycock (as the name suggests) is very irritating!


He also has that Aussie twang which makes it sound like he's always asking a question even when he's not!

In contrast, Gentle's reflection is as you say very refreshing, no excuses just tells it as it is!

Gentle is superb. Never totally happy, even in victory. He's tactically very good, & his use of interchages has been really good so far. He's sounds very grounded & honest. I imagine the players enjoy playing for him.
We still have some way to go, but Gentle is the man to take us onwards & upwards.

Sandycock is almost as funny as the rat catcher was which is quite embarrassing considering rovers are supposed to be a top two side. At least the rat catcher knew he was coaching a second rate team. Sandycock is too dumb to see it as it is and would rather blame the ref or injuries.

I wonder how many of the players who were pro Agar when he left still are now given our league position and how we've been playing?

Last season with the players out we had tonight there would have been no way we would have won, not even come close.

The more I see of Peter gentle the better I think he is as a coach, we may not win anything this season but already for me the improvements are there and we can only get better as the months go on.

When the signing was announced and people were saying it was a good one, he definitely said he had reservations about it. I think age was the main one. Not sure whether the extension of the year older Ben Galea at Rovers for a further year gave him the same concerns/misgivings. As already mentioned, the lack of enthusiasm about one of the region's teams starting well and sitting 2nd, however misplaced, is odd in my view.

yeah I remember gollums reservations on andy lynch, mrs b how wrong was he !? but of course all of his comments are affected by his incredible bias against hullfc , and I agree about rovers coach he really is becoming boring with his whingeing!!
