I don't think Toulon's business is laughable, they identified a player who was causing discord in their ranks and sacked him, seems reasonable to me. They wanted Mason and went and got him.
What is laughable is how easily rugby leage and KR were marginalised in the whole saga. Does anyone really believe that had it been union the Mason viga saga would have rumbled on? Had it been union, someone who went to public school with soeone at the home office would have had visas sorted quickly.
