| just seen a post by Airlie on FB saying rovers are trying to get him off the quota and bring in 2 more Aussies, meaning a possible 10 Aussies in there matchday 17! (as things stand before players leaving ans suchlike) but surly the RFL have to take this into account when looking at licencing? where is the young talent going to come in if this is true?

if there going to keep bringing in Australians and then taking the off the quota when eligible and end up with 17 starting Austrailians would you agree with that?
its just my opinion that the SL could end up like the premier league if it was allowed to happen and every club did it.
i thought thats what the franchise system was about, to promote the youth to improve the national side in the long run
seems to me like rovers would b going against this

| dont get me wrong, i have no problem at all with any player coming off the quota, its just i think there has to be some sort of limit to the amount of players that are in your side that was once on the quota

Good point. It's ridiculous this none quota rule and I'm sorry but KR abuse it more than others. Every team has its selection of quota players but do we not get sick of hearing aussies better blah blah blah. I agree that at present they do improve our game but bringing more and more over and then eventually ' they become English ' and then bringing more aussies over isn't going to help our game develope. There should be a set amount per team allowed.

Ben G has signed a new contract yes, this reporting by the HDM is actually incorrect Ben isn't off the quota as such he is classed an "Non fed trained" which now frees up another place , which along with Newts gives us a couple more quota places.

Residency is not fine.
In fact its a kick in the stones for the young lads that ARE born and bred English!!.
That means eventually a club could field a team of aussies which does nothing but push our progress further back.

Tongan international Willie Manu can play for England in the autumn's Four Nations after changing allegiance, the Rugby Football League has confirmed.
The 30-year-old Hull second row has been named in England coach Steve McNamara's initial training party.
"He qualifies on residency and has made himself available," said a spokesman.
Maurie Fa'asavalu played for Great Britain in 2007 after previously playing rugby union for Samoa, but has now switched codes back to rugby union.
Manu came to England in 2006 to play for Castleford, moving to Hull a year later, and recently signed a new two-year deal after producing the best form of his career, earning him a place at McNamara's 37-strong gathering.
Hull coach Richard Agar admitted the issue was "a hot potato," but said he backed the player's involvement with England.
"If Steve picks him, he'll open himself up for some criticism, but if he picks him and England win the Four Nations, he'll be judged as a hero," he said.
"Most other sports do it - a lot of players Australia pick have been born and bred in New Zealand - and Willie by rights qualifies for England on residency grounds

yeah agreed he shouldnt play for england. thats what this post is about. too many players coming from "quota" to "non quota" just because its happening dont mean we agree with it
i just find it funny rovers linked every player under the sun then going cap in hand [uDEMANDING[/u cash from the council. for something which is not a council owned building.
