is ths award for onfield or off field activities, or both? ian ashbee has hardly kicked a ball in anger, so why his he nominated then? i guess the organisers of these awrds are looking futher than just the onfleld contribution to the nominees clubs

Like someone said hes a fc player for a start so that seals it for me,but apart from that the guy is lucky to be even playing the game what hes been through.

as for briscoe hes a top bloke and hes had a great year for them,but im afraid hes a rovers player

correct, that is why I never bothered voting, I respect the fact Rich returned from a serious injury, but for me personally he has not done enough on the pitch, hope he has a good season next year though and I would gladly vote for him then.

'Sports personality' is such a stupid term for awards like these. Like the BBC awards which are judged on sporting endeavor only and should be named to match. 'Personality' doesn't come into it otherwise Chris Hoy would have won nowt! If you want to give awards for work in the community then give one for that sperately. Making it clear to voters what criteria they are voting on other than it being a popularity contest should be high on the agenda.
