| I got thinking about this with regard to the survey. Putting aside the fact that the club could schedule games on different days for different teams, the arguement seems to be either for sunday or friday. But why not saturday? Admittedly, there could be a problem with City, but it would bring... a night game, a day off work for away fans ( and home fans) to get there, a kick-off time for 6.30/7pm to enable the younger fans to go and sky would effectively not have to move a home game day because they have a saturday game broadcast...surely that makes everyone happy?

| the whole point of fridays was supposed to be that its more convenient for corporate types, so saturdays would be no better than fridays. think its a pointless debate though because as has been shown on the whole people don't really care what day/ time games are

| They will never please everyone but it is good to see the club are canvassing opinon at least.
They need to allow as many supporters to have their say, though, by advertising the match day experience survey in the next programme and via the local media.
They also need to clearly state what their plans are with regards match days BEFORE 2010 season passes go on sale.

Thats ok for you to say you dont have to work nights

They do, well the players do, on Fridays they do the tackling and Sundays they do the attacking.

Prefare Sunday evening that way we don't end up with a 5h1t weekend following another poor performance and defeat. Gives about three hours to contemplate it before work. As opposed to 2 whole days to abuse the family.

| Hope they leave it as it is, i know you cant please everybody.
I work Saturdays so that wouldnt be good for me.
I'd like to see the club try going for a 5 or 6pm kick off on a sunday evening just to see how it would go.

| Friday nights proved at the start of the season to be a good thing and gates were up. Sadly the unsuccesful antics on the pitch have meant the gate has dropped. If we turn things around next season i can see us beating our previous best average gates for the year playing on friday nights.

I think the attendences will all be down to how the team plays aswell, because althought some people dont like friday nights or sundays they will still generally try and get to the game like myself i dont like fridays but i still go to the games and take time off work to go to games.
So if the teams do well the attendence will look after itself.

Either way I can see the gates being down next year. The stay ways will wait and see how the season pans out before committing again. An example of this is Wire who have waited to see how things improve before they started to get excited.
We could sign all the current Aussie squad and still some will not go as I am certain they feel the class will be knocked out of them.
In more ways than one the first 10 games of next season will be crucial for Hull FC. A high loss percentage and you will be certain to see 10,000 gates being a rareity. What ever the day we play.

Im not sure many people will stay away to be honest. Bringing in Sean Long and Craig Fitzgibbon will give all fans hope. We need to win the first few games though to keep people on side and we need to play well more than anything. Im confident we wont have that many stay aways, im also confident our season tickets sales wont be down.

Agree, I also do not think our sales/gates will dip, that many new players it will give us all hope/optimism. As proved at the beginning of the season we can attract 14,000+ like you point out we will have to improve drastically to maintain the gates though.

Think we need to factor the economic climate into season pass sales, more than this years performances in my opinion. If you add both together i can see a fall in season pass sales.
What i want to see next year is us playing with some style and not the dross we have been served up this year. Regards the day we play, i prefer a Sunday, could leave the house at 11am and have a few jars before the match and likewise after it....can't do that now. Also can't take my son (who's 3) on Friday's

In the current economy people need reasonably cheap things to keep them occupied. A season pass for FC is a reasonably cheap option and gives something to look forward to most weekends. It cheaper than going round town and spending £50-£80 per session. Current climate or not lots of people are still spending between £200 and £320 easily every month on booze. A season pass for £180-£200 will still be on most peoples christmas list imo.

| If we were having any level of success we wouldn't even be having this debate. It's a sign of how far we've fallen that we've become distracted by things like this. For my own part, i was annoyed that Rules "survey" didn't involve asking the fans who pay through the turnstiles what they want. Fridays have been okay but i've sat there in my seat so many times watching dross this season that i don't know what i like best anymore. If we'd played out of our skins i probably would have loved friday nights.

Some good points. In many cases though we are not talking about a season pass per household, you could be talking of two or more, which is a sizable outlay. I agree people will renew, but there will be some that won't for the reasons stated.
With regards the value for money point, that's debatable at the moment - many people have said they are not attending games this year and will pick and choose next year. People will pin there hopes on us having a better season with the players we have signed next year, which is fine but i don't think people will settle next season for what has been served up this year....here's hoping us fans back the side yet again.
