| This isn't a thread about how bad Agar and Jon Sharp are, theres other threads for that. But I was looking at the website and I was suprised to see the lack of coaches for our team barring those aimed at improving our fitness and conditioning. Agar and Sharp obviously are involved, but it seems with Steve Crooks as the player performance manager (who is still suspended isn't he?) there isnt anyone else unless Last also helps to coach. I don't feel Agar and Sharp are good enough in their positions anyway but if we do decide to go with a new coach, would it be wise to also back that man with a larger coaching set up? Perhaps a forwards coach and a backs coach for example?

Crooks was back 2 months ago IIRC
Also, I would prefer a set-up like in Australia - with sprint coaches and Defense and attack coaches.

| Now this is an area that fans can rightly complain about the lack of investment from the club.

This is one reason Kearney said he did not want to coach in SL right now. He felt coaches were not given the tools to do the job with compared with the amount facilities available to a head coach in the NRL.
At Leeds Bluey has a no.2 (Cummins) and then ex players helping out such as Willie Poaching.

Don't forget the regular tips he receives from Kath, too!

Think you'll find that was more our chairman's (kath) decision than Rule's afterall she does seem to keep tight hold of the purse strings..

But that would cost, our board members don't like paying for things they don't think they need.

Does he have to be mentioned in every f'ing thread????
As for the coaches, there are not enough in a SL clubs set up i dont think. That may be why our players turn into utility players rather than specialising, as they all train together rather than splitting off and learning postion specific skills and disciplines

| This is a really good point, we have agar in overall charge. Sharp is supposed to be over seeing all teams from first grade down. Other than that we have no specialist coaches, we would definitely benefit from having an attacking coach, somebody who could work on set plays and organization in attack. Aswell as somebody who can work on organization in defence.

| I dont think any club has specialist coaches do they?
Most clubs will let players do extras for as long as they want prior and and following sessions where they will work on kicking if they are kickers, ruck plays if they are forwards, tackle tech etc, any weakness they may have in their game.
Once the session starts it will probably be group rotations, perhaps 2 or 3 small groups with different coaching staff then swapping over followed by team work.
If a Head Coach feels his side need specifics then he will bring in someone from outside, a sprint coach for the backs or a wrestling coach for the forwards for example.
That is how most clubs operate anyway, not sure about London Skolors, I think they train in the dark with a water melon. ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)
